I am a CEM (certified energy manager) with 30+ years in energy conservation. I have experience in wind and many other areas.

What excites you about this campaign?

You have accuratly defined the problem and the solution.

What do you want to do to help?

I support the Pickens Plan including requiring all new commercial trucks to use NG as a transition fuel while we evelop greener renewable fuels. I support replacing the NG used to generate electricity, with wind energy to generate electricity.
I would like to do more including making NGV’s (natural gas vehicles) and EV’s (electric commuter vehicles) affordable and available to the average person. The group that should be helping make this possible, EPA, is one of the major roadblocks. We need the EPA to relax standards to make NGV’s affordable. American ingenuity and the drive of small business entrepreneurs can revolutionize and eliminate the transfer of our children’s future to OPEC. An
CNG conversion that could cost $3,000. Sells for $12,000.
Help me organize an AFV(alternate fuel vehicle) Coop to convert existing and new private vehicle to natural gas and electric. We also need to organize an AFV Credit Union to finance these conversions and cars.

I'm not big on words. I think action speaks much louder. As an Energy Conservation Professional, I think the Pickens Plan is the most logical plan to solve the imported energy and transfer of wealth problem. It's a domestic clean fuel that is abundant and can provide the bridge to renewable energy.

As a 25-year veteran in Power Generation & Energy Development, let me thank you for getting involved and extend an offer to provide insight and assistance in your local efforts. This is a very do-able plan and it starts with people like you in making it a success. The key to the plans success will be communicating to the masses.We need to communicate reality not dreams for unfortunately the American public has a very short attention span and most are living day to day. The Pickens Plan as it stands right now is at the 50,000 ft level. We need to develop a more comprehensive detailed national execution plan for the next five years. The first section should incorporate conservation and placing public pressure on elected officials at all levels of government to engage and approve a national plan while in parallel we are designing, constructing and installing the new alternative energy infrastructure systems. Once we have the grass roots base involved at this level, we can then continue to communicate the next steps of the plan to them to help bring us to the Energy Independence we are looking to accomplish .If there is anything I can do to help you in your organizing effort, please feel free to contact me.

It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

From what I've seen, gas electric plants are getting near 60% energy efficiency. Otto cycle combustion motors in cars get 18-20% for oil. Do you know if we should expect 18-20% efficiency for natural gas in cars?

We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
