Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have been an electrician 38 years. I am a master electrician, I have held (and hold) electrical contractors licenses is several states and I am currently a construction manager for a medium sized firm specializing in integration and industrial process controls systems..
Hands on and supervisory experience for construction, maintenance and retrofit of:
Alternative; Steam, CO-Gen., Scrap wood burning power generating plants. Solar to power remote control stations. Controls for methane pipelines for the pulp and paper industry (local).
Traditional; Natural gas, Nuclear and Coal power plants. High Voltage control and monitoring systems. All facets of the petroleum industry from the oil fields, pipelines, refineries, chemical plants UNOCAL Parachute Creek shale oil mine, retort and upgrade facilities. Intelligent Traffic Monitoring Systems, Water and Wastewater process and control, Ground water monitor and cleaning systems. Basic commercial construction and maintenance
What excites you about this campaign?
It is a good start that can lead to energy independence and millions of jobs in the US. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER TO INVITE ME TO BE "A FRIEND"
I AM NOT---ALL ABOUT BEING GREEN! I AM – a conservationist but if you are from the Sierra Club or from PETA, I am not your flavor. I support bio-waste fuels, not food-fuels. I am for drilling oil that belongs to the US to stockpile and use wisely until we have working, viable alternatives. I am for National security and energy independence by becoming the world’s leading edge of alternative energy research, development, and distribution world wide after we arrange our own infrastructure. As I stated above, this is a start and we have to start somewhere.
What do you want to do to help?
I currently live and work in the NE corridor. Where there is much of the “Not in My Back Yard” mentality. I see a great potential for the retro-fitting of old, unused industrial facilities to locate transmission and possibly generation facilities.
I would like to become involved in local organization, town hall meetings and instruction to the public.

Just the person I have been looking for, we need to talk my friend, many opportunities and much to tell you what I have discovered along the way. Good to hear from and will friend you when I get home.
I agree with you completely and if you read all my post and blogs you will see that. I am not a proponent of Global Warming. I simply believe if we are good stewards of the earth and take care of it it will take care of us. I have said since the oil embargo of the 70's; I would not mind paying $5.00 a gallon for gas if it came out of our ground. I think we have to develop all kinds of energy so we do not have all our eggs in one basket.
Welcome to the Pickens plan. We all share the same goal; to rid ourselves of foreign oil and clean up our environment for our children and grandchildren. Some of us have a different vision of what we need to do. Check out our group "Live Carbon Free" and see how we are promoting conservation and environmental stewardship as the bridge to future energy developments. Regardles of what we do, it will take some time to implement on a significant scale. For immediate results we can make a huge difference by conserving what we have. We would like for you to join our group and value your input. Feel free to add me as a friend.
Key Policy Recommendations for a Cleaner, Greener Energy Future
* Provide multiyear tax incentives for renewable-energy production and energy-efficiency projects.
* Set national mandates that would require utilities to get at least 20 percent of their electricity from wind, solar and geothermal energy by 2020.
* Add and updating the building code to require energy-efficiency measures in the construction of new buildings and the renovation of existing buildings, and setting a goal to reduce buildings' energy use 50 percent by 2030.
* Set prices for carbon-dioxide emissions and creating a program that caps emissions from different industries and allowing companies to trade emissions allowances.
* Upgrade and expanding the nation's electric grid to enable it to support electric cars and the transport and storage of renewable energy.
* Provide incentives for utilities to invest in energy-efficiency technologies.
* Increase the fuel efficiency of cars and trucks and investing more money in private-public partnerships that would develop transportation systems that rely on little or no oil, such as electric cars.
* Provide incentives to consumers and small businesses to buy plug-in hybrid cars and alternative fuels, including natural-gas-powered cars.
* Invest more federal dollars in cleantech research and development, including ways to capture and store carbon-dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants.
* Speed up the process of setting aside public lands and improving the permitting process for renewable-electricity projects on public lands.
* Shift from ethanol made from corn to ethanol made from wood chips, agricultural waste and other nonfood feedstock, and encouraging a joint U.S.-Brazil partnership to turn sugar cane into ethanol in the Caribbean.
If it becomes more populare to support it than fight it, we can reduce some of that NIMBY.
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. We need your help.
There is a perfect storm of events happening right now that create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future American solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.
Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.
Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.

If you know someone in the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write to a Congressman/woman- get them to understand this. You can call them at (202)225-3121. Ask them if they support 100% clean electricity in the next 10 years.
If you know someone who is in the public eye- ask them to support this.
If you can write a letter to the editor of your local paper- please do.
If you want to print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window- please do.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TODAY to ask 5 people to join this historical effort.
Best,

We get 45 million to vote for American Idol, why can't we get 10 million to join Pickens Plan?!
