Maybe the oil stain on the earth created by all the dead organisms of the past, dinosaurs, plants and germs does not exist. Then maybe we can ignore the current fossil argument and your complaint about oil stains.

The oil was placed on the dirt to prevent dust which the people did not like. In the real world each action has a equal but opposite reaction. Reality is not a nice thing. Energy is what creates and sustains all life, it comes from many sources sun, rain, friction, science of man, expanding and contracting of the earth and on and on, but no one can argue it is life itself.

Peace accepted. Thank you for ending this on a peaceful note. I want you to know that I am in the next 2 years going to build a house that will have Solar Heated Water/Glycol for both heating my home and for hot water use. I am also going to Impliment Geo Thermal for heat and cooling. I plan to put enough Solar panels on my home to generate 4KW of power per day and to back that up I plan to either run a Water Driven Generator or a Wind Generator depending on where my Wife and I retire. I have been experimenting with a Hydrogen Generator on my 1985 Toyota PU and it looks like I am getting 22MPG where before I was getting 17MPG. I believe its people like us that is going to make a difference and I in no way want drilling so it will kill the push towards Alternative Energies. What I want is OUTSOURCING, Illegal Immigration, Slave Labor to stop taking money away from UNITED STATES CITIZENS. I am tired of watching America Finance the rest of the world when we have people loosing their Homes and Jobs to Cheap Labor. BUY AMERICAN and put an AMERICAN TO WORK. We need to look inward to fix the problems we have and stop depending on Other Nations to supply our needs. Lets take Airbus wanting to supply the Tankers for OUR AIR FORCE. Ok we get in a war with another nation and France is blown off the map. Where do we get our spare parts to fix the Tankers we need to refuel our Fighters? We as a Nation should never depend on another Nation to supply our Military Needs. Thats only common sense. Anyway I will get off my soapbox for now.

$5 and even $10 is bad enough. What is worse is the amount of money that is leaving our country forever. And some of it is finding its way into enemy hands.

Our existence as a country is at stake.

There is an article on hemp on the internet. Seems it was the original selection for powering vehicles way back at the turn of the century - 1900 era that is. DuPonts wanted oil.

A consumtion tax is usually the fairest. What we need to be causious about is a value added tax. In my case the present system is to my advantage as I pay no tax. I would support
the fair tax as you describe it.

Thanks Michelle...I feel a little bad about it because this guy, and there's a lot like him on Pickens, exemplify what I find most troubling about our country. I expected a lotta negs. It's encouraging to hear a little support. I enjoy your posts very much. If there were more like you this movement would be moving in a positive direction a lot faster.

Hi Michelle, No worries... I hate $5- gas every time I reach into my pocket , but love it at the same time because it will force our hand, it also makes me think , hmmm must get razors, oh I also need Milk and thats also near the post office , do it all in one trip, I've cut my gas costs by 20-30% by thinking ahead of time, also shutting off more lights , tv's at the house, recycling more , its a great time to be alive !!! Peace and power to the sheeples, Kurt

Hi Michelle,

We are on the same page. Conservation is the answer. The long term solution is alternative energy but that will take time. Meanwhile we need to conserve all we can, recycle what we can and offset the rest. If every American reduced their Carbon Footprint by 25% we would be in a much better situation until other energy sources are developed. Check out our group at Live Carbon Free. We would love for you to join and value your input. Check our www.conservationistheanswer.com also.

Dear Ms. M

There are some really stupid beliefs about our energy usage , and exactly where we are at this point in time. All my life, these other ways energy production have been smothered by the oil boys when they gave any signs of competing . The king in Arabia just had to turn some valves and more oil flowed onto the boat. And not just any oil, but "good oil" - light sweet crude, (Good for making transportation fuels).

Well 300,000,000 Chinese changed all that . And there are real signs that the Saudis haven't got all that extra oil they said they had.
You want to read about the history of oil ?
The "Seven Sisters" is probably still the best layman's book .

Adios ....
