Hey John, That's pretty much the idea I was trying to get at, but getting ahold of Mr. Pickens or anybody that could point us in the right direction is the tough part. I have tried to find out information about the Pampa project, but all I find is...

Hi David, This is something that Boone could help with he is working on his farm in Pampa. He probably knows most everyone in the wind business & could give you some names. A web site or blog with postings of projects by companies would give crews...

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Greil Conveyor Applications, Inc. is a privately owned company with a truck that has helped speed up the process of the "trench padding". We are working at the Bull Creek wind farm out by O'Donnell, TX. Our truck is fully operated by us with a remote control, standing outside of the truck. The truck has a 19 ft. arm (boom) that rotates off the back end that is belt fed. This allows us to walk along side the trench and place the material on top of all the cables (i.e. copper ground wire, primary cables and fiber cable) to the appropriate depth. We are currently subcontracted out by Key Enterprises and have been able to place over 10,500 ft. of padding (1 lift at 6" compacted depth and the 2nd lift at 12" compacted depth) in a single day with only one truck.
What excites you about this campaign?
Everything so far! The more we research and look into these wind farms, the more enthralled we are. From the amount of energy one wind tower can produce, to how much oil the United States consumes, to even the steps it takes to build a single tower is simply amazing!
What do you want to do to help?
First of all we would like to be a part of as many wind farm projects as possible by helping getting them completed faster. Even if it is just a little bit faster, it seems that this is going to help fuel our economy into a more resourceful world. GCA is available for hire and if you have any questions or comments, you can check out our webpage at www.greilconveyor.com . Our company is based out of a town close to Dallas, TX where we have been oblivious to most of this information and we have been informing many family and friends on the phenomenal things these wind farms have been doing and will continue to do.

Happy New Year Mike,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Mike, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

Mike,
TX-26 district has been organizing our group through the month of Dec. I see you have not been attached to a congressional district. We invite you to join district-26.
We have members from Denton, Tarrant, Dallas and Collin counties.
Regards, Joey Horn
We like to have people share their knowledge of these technologies. I am also connected with wind farm development.

Hi Mike

What do you want the new president to do FIRST??

"That's the question of the day at Fox News, and you can weigh in by sending them an email telling them you want to see the next president adopt the Pickens Plan!

Please go to: America's Talking at http://www.foxnews.com/livedesk/index.html

Regradless of who we voted for - our country has decided and we must do everything in our power to insure the Obama's Presdency is a successful one. STARTING WITH ENERGY. We must continue to educate Americans one at a time how urgent renewable and alternative energies are to our future. WE ONLY ACHIEVE CHANGE WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION to creating a complete paradigm shift of thought in this country.

Thomas Friedman said some critical things about changing thought and getting action:

What do you think about Boone's New Energy Army marching on Washington when President-elect Obama and the new Congress are sworn in?

I think he’s on the right track.

Why do you say that?
How did we get civil rights changes in this country? It happened basically when people took to the streets and politicians saw them, understood there was an aggrieved community there that wanted action, and the politicians decided that the cost of inaction on their part was greater than the cost of action. The same thing has to happen on energy. There is only going to be real legislative change and support of renewable energy when enough politicians decide that the cost of inaction is greater than the cost of action. And bringing lots of people, and I don’t mean five, ten, twenty, but hundreds of thousands of people to bear on Capitol Hill to drive that point home is really essential.

How closely do you think the major oil-exporting countries are watching us to see whether or not America develops a sustainable energy policy?
I think they’re watching, but I think so far they’re not afraid because they’ve seen this play before. They know when global oil prices go down, it tends to kill the renewable energy industry. Happened in the ‘70s and ‘80s. And so I don’t think they’re exactly quaking in their boots yet. But I think they’re watching very closely, especially when they see the politics shift and they see people like Boone or Wal-Mart, people from the corporate sector or even from the traditional energy business such as General Electric adopting new positions- that gets their attention. They haven’t seen yet any really scale alternative to oil. Until they do, I don’t think they’ll be all that worried.

I have said all along the only way to get this done is to make it political suicide for them not to get it done! The only way we affect results on this is to be strong, be loud, be united and be consistent, in all of it. PLEASE continue to share the Pickens Plan with everyone you know. Bring them to the site. Get them to sign your pledge/petition. NOW is not the time to let down our effort, it is the time to turn up the pressure - We now know where it needs to be directed. We will eat the apple one bite at a time. Please keep it in your conversations and continue to help us build to millions of supporters. WE CAN DO THIS.

MY BEST,
Kim

Mr. Greil,
It is good to know that your service is available, because up to now padding trucks like yours have been in short supply. All the projects that I have been on for the last 3 years have had a padder like yours, and do greatly speed up the paddind prosess. This last project had 2 padders, one of which may now be at your location. We have finished all our trenching and cabling, and Key moved out the last of their padders yesterday. It will be close to the end of the year before I go to my next project, but I will keep your service in mind.

Phil.

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help. I am contacting to ensure you are kept abreast of current events.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will add you to the list.

PICKENS U has been formed for college and university students to get involved. If you know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to helped coordinate the pledge drive please submit names to Pickens U site. This would be good for job resume.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch
