Vice President to visit Detroit tomorrow.

Gang, This would be a wonderful opportunity to see & hear the VP speak about the administrations plans for our Nation's energy future. Quite possibly an opportunity to speak with staff or the press about the Pickens Plan as well.

V.P. Biden will be at NextEnergy, 461 Burroughs Street, Detroit. General admission tickets will be available from Noon-1 in the lobby. (Recommend getting there well before that to ensure a ticket.) Please message me if you want to go but are unsure what… Continue

Hi, Mike - Sorry it took me so long. I have seen T. Boone on TV commercials and interviews and he is very impressive to listen to. I don't know why there is not more talk about him and his ideas. Just because he is wealthy does not mean he is only out for the bucks! I am in Arizona, visiting, and will be back in Dearborn the end of march. If you have any meetings or events around that tine I would appreciate to participate. Or, we could touch base by phone sometime. I don't normally commit to schedules like golf leagues, etc, as I traveled constantly before retiring and now still like to be footloose. I sense that your efforts are very important and if I can be of some assistance I would be glad to pitch in. Brian Webb 734 673-9809, Verizon cell

I attended a public forum about rural economic development at the Ohio Dept of Agriculture headquarters in Columbus, OH on Thu-21-Jan-2010. Attending were over 100 active participants including farmers, entrepreneurs, academics, and government officials ranging from Local, County, State, and Federal entities.

Energy was the most popular subject, with ideas and commitments coming from all corners of the room. One man from southeast Ohio spoke advocating passage of HR 1835. Others brought forth ideas from their companies working on waste-to-energy technology. When I introduced myself as a Pickens Plan District Leader, the response was positive, especially when I spoke about energy crops, soybeans and sugarbeets.

At the table in front of me was Trish McCullough, Regional Liaison for Congressman Zack Space (OH-18) in Dover, OH. After the forum ended, we discussed HR 1835, and exchanged contact information.

Hi Mike: I'm from Maumee Ohio and--I am very much behind the Pickens Plan for natural gas. However I would like to point out that as an inventor I have been trying to contact the Picken's office as I believe my web site www.energyFEC.com backs up Pickens plan and I can augment the natural gas with electrical energy to reduce the co2 and at the same time burn electrically natural gas more efficiently. Hi Mike,

Extended an invitation to the Ohio People to come on the show today---guess they were busy. Please tell everyone that next Wednesday Boone will be on The Revolution Show and we hope they will all call in. The following week, our guest will be Dea Riley, who is running for Lt. Gov. in Kentucky. Hope some of the Kentucky Pickens People can call in to tell her what they want in energy. We really want to keep the energy, natural gas and Pickens Plan story out in front.

Thanks for your help,

John

Notice to Entrepreneurs in the New Energy Economy:
ADVANCED-ENERGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR IN WARREN, OHIO

When I appeared on the Green Revolution Show (Wed-25-Nov-2009) I described the Youngstown-Warren Ohio region (in NE Ohio and W Pennsylvania) is a hotbed for Green Energy technology and business opportunity.

The Youngstown Business Journal published this article (Copyright 2009 The Business Journal, Youngstown, Ohio) which can be read on the OH-17 District Group Page.

NorTech to Help Launch Warren Incubator
-- 12/15/2009
Dec. 22, 2009 6:48 a.m.
By Dennis LaRue
WARREN, Ohio -- Possessed of a vision and fortified with $2.7 million in federal and state grants and another $1.7 million in private funding, a steering committee of 26 will, over the next 10 months, work toward the birth of an advanced-energy business incubator downtown.

Midwife to this birth is Rebecca O. Bagley, president and CEO of NorTech, a consulting firm based in downtown Cleveland whose tagline is “Growing Northeast Ohio’s High Tech Economy.”

Bagley, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-17 Ohio, state Sen. Capri Cafaro, D-32 Hubbard, state Rep. Tom Letson, D-64 Warren, and Mayor Michael O’Brien, outlined their vision Monday of what such an incubator might achieve in the fields of “advanced energy and flexible materials.”

Long on optimism and short on specifics, the four expressed hope the incubator will rejuvenate manufacturing in Mahoning Valley through infant enterprises that one day produce parts for windmills, geothermal, solar and nuclear energy plants and sources of energy other than petroleum, coal and natural gas.

“Four hundred tons of steel go into a windmill,” Ryan noted.

Bagley offered a number of people she expects would be employed in the incubator -- “50 to 70 jobs” – rather the number of companies that would be housed there.
