Alternative energy is unaffordable in Hawai`i. We do have great sun, wind, geothermal (don't know if I agree with that one) etc...but the infrastructure cost is totally out of range for the average family in Hawai`i. Therefore, I am gearing my starter plan for "food sovereignty". We live on islands in the middle of the sea and currently about 90% of our food is imported. I would hate to see the day, the barges don't come in because I think it would be chaos. So in a way, I have a plan for "food sovereignty" as a form of saving on gas prices of having to drive to the store to get the foods we can grow ourselves. If people just grew a small vegetable garden to supplement there families, they would benefit in several ways:

1.They wouldn't have to waste gas to get to the stores to buy the food.

2. The food we feed our families would be rich in nutrients cause we would pick and harvest fresh fruits and vegetables for our families.

3. We wouldn't have to rely as much on imported foods.

Hawai`i is different from Northern America because we are in the middle of the sea. Due to overpopulation (thanks to the environmentally unconscious political system) and gas prices, food in Hawai`i has double in price in the past year and we do not have enough resources if for some reason, the barges couldn't deliver the goods.. I would also like to see more people use the barter system as part of their lifestyles.

Here's how you can help.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. Ask them to join. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.

So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done.

Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. One person can make a difference.

Let me know how it goes
