What ever happened to the coal combustion turbine?
did designs for friend's farms using windmills and the hydraulic ram(civil war era technology) for no Ga Power required water pumps(which could then run low-head water turbines for elec. generation on demand
always said solar would happen when direct conversion panels got efficient and cheap(30 years later I like the numbers I'm seeing now on solar electric panels)
solar was always great for heating water
retuned my 76 Malibu's 305/2bbl carb to run 100% methanol with NO modifications to the chevy (just like my alky fueled race engines)

hiked Talluleh gorge as a kid for years(it became a gorge when Ga Power diverted the river into it's first hydro plant in the 20's)
Cool plant
LOVED the idea of using ARCO's wasted nat gas at the Alaska wells for power generation to run the HAARPE project
(maybe Mr.Tesla's idea of wireless power transmission could be adapted to bring that juice to our Canadian buddies)
or just keep it there to power up HAARPE if Mr.Putin wants to test our warhead neutrilization system on (multiple) reentry vehicles

In answer to your question - No, I'm not associated with any algae farm and I've never even seen one except in videos. However, I think algae technology has a lot of potential and I hope that one or more of the many groups working with it will be able to successfully commercialize their process. Their biggest challenge is to develop a process that can produce very large quantities of algae oil consistently and at a COST that is reasonably competitive with petroleum based fuels.

The stars have aligned to create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is and has been urgently needed. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future President will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "In the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.
Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat by only pennies the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
