How many calls have you made so far?
Well, we’ve heard from Boone again, the stimulus bill has some stuff in it we will all like, but not everything we want, but it’s an important start. Please call your leaders in Washington again and ask them to support it. Then email me with a report of how many total calls you made and who you talked to so I can report for our district to headquarters.

I need your help!
Some of you may be aware that I have joined the Pickens Plan, for Energy Independence from foreign oil. I’ve added my voice to almost 1.5 million others to present a unified contingent to the new administration by or before January 20th, Inauguration Day.
All I need is your reply to this eMail with one word: YES. I will add your vote to a petition which simply summarizes this objective:
“I am in favor of enacting an Energy Independence Plan within the first 100 days of the Obama Administration.”

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you may have already taken.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the Local District page.
- Visit your My Energy page and get involved.
- Get involved with others in your City or State.
- Find and connect with a like-minded Group.
- Start or join a Campus/Alumni group at PickensU.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
