They don't need to have that activity happen is they take time to schedule a meeting with the people like me who take the time to write thoughtful letters and make requests in writing. They didn't before they created this mess and they are not now...

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have had residential solar hot water since 1980. I wanted to install solar electric on our new home but it price was much to high. I don't see why it should be so expensive the hardworking average Americans can not afford it. Wind turbines are much to expensive also. We should get 100% tax credits for solar installations. NOW.
What excites you about this campaign?
It is the solution. America needs to embrace this plan and extend renewable energy.
What do you want to do to help?
Organize and participate. Create video, graphics, and get our youth involved. I have been a teacher for 30+ years. Adults get involved with their children. This brings families together and makes the mission stronger. Extend grant opportunities directly to teachers and we will get families involved.

Leslie and Nancy,
I just phoned Rep. Rooney's Stuart office and asked about the meeting. Katy, who answered, said there isn't a meeting on the west coast. I asked if there were any, and she said just one -- I asked when and where -- she said tomorrow, 6 pm, at 2400 Salerno RD, Stuart, (which Google indicates is Gladys Wolf High - Technology Center -- that's by the library, I think). I didn't ask if tickets were required. Jessica, who previously told me there was a west coast meeting, no longer works there, Katy said.

I just found a TCPalm / Stuart News article that lists tomorrow's meeting as the only one -- http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2009/aug/12/TCROONEY/.

FYI, Rooney's website District offices are listed at http://rooney.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=4&sectiontree=4.

Rep. Rooney's visit to Israel during the recess is described in another TCPalm article: [Rooney was] "part of a delegation led by House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., that spent time last week with both Israeli and Palestinian leaders . . ." http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2009/aug/13/treasure-coast-congressmen-support-israel-after-vi/.

Sorry for getting your hopes up, Nancy. Do you get the feeling that he's not anxious to talk to constituents?

Hey Nancy,

Does your area have regular meetings yet for Pickens Plan? If not, I want you to know that ours does and you are welcome to come to any of them. To get information and directions, just go to the Events Tab and look for District FL-11

We arrange guest speakers from the energy industry and political figures from every level of government. For our meeting on August 13th we have "David Gammon" from Progress Energy's Renewable Energy Contracts department and on the following month we have booked "Mark Sharpe" of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.

Have a great week,
John Osborn
District FL-11 Leader

And let's all make the commitment to recruit 10 other people to take part, too.

Mr. Pickens needs to meet with Ralph Nader. He has supporters and a history of working for consumers. I think that it will help McCain to work with these individuals. I heard him on C-span and he has some good idea that will help Main Street consumers. Google offered to include him in a online debate and he said that McCain agreed but Obama refused. That tells me that McCain is dedicated to include everybody in his admin but Obama is not.
