Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I live in Abilene, TX just outside of Sweetwater where the world's largest windmill farm is located. I fly over it every week on approach to Dyess AFB and am amazed how fast the wind farm is growing. It seems like almost a dozen new windmills go up each week.
What excites you about this campaign?
This country has had its hands tied by special interests for too long and if we don't make a change in how we live our lives our country and the whole planet will not survive. Wind and solar energy is cheap and renewable with no polution and should have been started up decades ago.
What do you want to do to help?
I'd love to install a micro wind turbine to help power my house. I'm holding off buying a new car until hydrogen cars are mass produced. The faster I don't have to buy gasoline the better.

Happy New Year Nathan,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Nathan, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
Nathan, First let me thank you for your service to our Country, and tell you I am proud to have you at Dyess in Abilene.
Careful with the Micro turbines... be sure you get a tested product and your power company endroses your effort. They are not to " home turbine friendly yet"... but that is changeing.
I know some of them have even considered higher rates for home owners who "suppliment " energy with Turbines ...
I think the time is coming / the public is going to demand it, and sites like this one are helping organize idea's and thougths for solutions.
My father is on a farm in Jones County and he is looking into Turbine use to irrigate his land- rather than pay cost for electric pumps. I know the staff at Diamond back golf course was also considering Turbines to power pumps for irrigation on thier course too... but somthing stalled with them as well.
Your wait and see approch seems to be the best. I wish you luck and thank you again for your service.
Welcome! Do you currently have information about micro wind turbines? I am able to locate a wind turbine small enough for pumping water but would like something more in the range to benefit my home. I would love the opportunity to push electicity back out into the grid. The opportunity to give instead of take would be great.
Any info on water harvested energy provided from jet streams? I think a combination of alternative energy sources is key as we have relied mostly on oil for too long.
Please take a look at the executive summary on my page. We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
I'm very happy to have you as a friend. I admire the Air Force and you people that make it what it is. We share the same goal as to achieving energy independance. Years ago I was a sargent in the 84th Depot Repair Squadron 15th Army Air Force, North Africa and Italy.
Nathan, Thank you for your service to our freedoms and security. I would like to invite you to join the Troops & Vets group. The support of our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors & Marines are crucial to our success. No other people are sacrificing more. I would be honored to have you on board. Please tell your fellow service members and GOD bless! Patrick Llewellyn
