Hi,

check out www.ca40g.com ... might help make that SUV a little less rediculous.

Actually, on second thought... hold off on that for a bit. I'm stuck with a somewhat inefficient vehicle too (as a percussionist a big car is nessecary) and I've ordered a bottle of that stuff.

Its not here yet... I'll let you know after I get it if it works.

I value your son's service. I spent six years in the navy, four at sea including two tours in the Persian Gulf back in the 80's escorting "re-flagged" oil tankers through the Straights of Hormuz. One ship in our battlegroup hit a mine and nearly sank (a destroyer called USS Roberts...three killed...that did not make the evening news). American's have been dying for too many years simply protecting the oil flow out of that hell-hole. And we don't need to because we have oil here (and alternatives are on the cusp). It's only because oil is generally cheap to produce (pumped out of the ground for less than $2/bbl) that we opt for Middle East and only 10 years ago oil was selling on the market for $10/bbl. Whereas it costs in excess of $30/bbl to produce in most US fields. Oh what we wouldn't give (other than our sons lives) for oil at only $30, right! May God bless you and keep your son safe.

I got your name from the "slow down to save gas and money" group. (a group I joined recently)

I'm not scientifically trained either, but I find this site to be a GREAT place to share ideas.

I've been doing a bunch of reading online, and have found out that there are a bunch of ways we can all reduce our energy use (and therefore oil consumption) on an individual level. Smarter (and slower) use of your car is only the start.

I wrote a little blog entry on the subject... If you have the time, check it out... http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

I'm trying to talk to as many people as I can in order to continue to add to my list of ideas as far as how to conserve more in my daily life (and also share what I've learned)... I believe that while we build and invest in large-scale solutions, we can also do a bunch of little things in the process.

Thanks for listening.
