Hi Pamela,
I am amazed at how many different types and models of wind turbines there are. Many different ones on this site, from do-it-yourself, to large community based ones. I first saw a vertical one a few years back when Jay Leno showed the one he has. It looked very practical, of course I don't know much about these things.
Hello Pamela,
I read you comments about Walmart. I would think there are PickensPlan.com members who work at Walmart HQ. Do you know anyone who wants at Walmart headquarters that could give you advice? Let me do a little research on the subject.

I was just wondering. I live in Virginia, but have seen stories about people going to the modest Walmart HQ for different things. I'm not sure who you could reach out to locally, but we now have a new zip-code lookup tool at the top right. It seems to be limited to exact zipcode search though - and not surrounding. Let me know if I can be of any other help. Thanks
Clynton, Thanks for the comment. I think a big group of us (say 20) could write a petition asking Wal Mart to stop supplying free plastic bags. Then we could call the local T.V. news and Wal-Mart and ask to drop off the petition to the public relations person. China has outlawed plastic bags, and expect to save 35 million barrels of oil from it. I bought my canvas bags at Wal-Mart for $1 each. And each one holds more than twice the weight and volume of a plastic bag. So just 3 or 4 is enough. Certainly, 3 or 4 dollars for a one time expense is not going to break most people's food budget. Clynton, where do you live? How can we get 20 people to go to Wal-Mart in Bentonville? I live just about 45 minutes away. I met Luane and I think she would join us.
Thanks for the response. I hope you didn't take away from my comment that I was being negative to Mr. Pickens or anyone else. On the contrary, I am very appreciative of his efforts and the forum he has provided for all of us.
I was simply stating that many who have a hard time distinguishing between a person's character and loyalty, might take the easy road and just quit - instead of putting their energy into helping the plan succeed. I see T. Boone as a serial businessman. If there was some way to put lemonade stands along the wind corrider and turn it into a billion dollar business, he probably couldn't help himself but invest. That doesn't take away from his efforts to rid us of foreign oil - nor does it mean that we should stop working to help him (and ourselves) accomplish that goal.
Hi Pamela... I also dry my clothes ourside... My husband found some clotheslines that are retractable reels... I stretch them (3) when I need them to hooks on a tree (got my fingers crossed that it does not harm the tree) about 20 feet from the house.. We also have a wood stove (fancy glass front) in our living room and in the winter we hardly ever hear the furnace kick on... Our problem so far is finding wood to get us through the whole winter... We have trees down (on 17 acres) from various ice storms, but they all seem to be in places that it is hard to get the tractor to to haul the wood out... I think we need a mule or something.. **S**
