I have developed this group for people who are or would like to be involved in the renewable energy movement in the western north carolina region. Lets make a difference!
Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I studied sustainable design and renewable energies in the Technology Department at Appalachian State University and have become even more interested about the technology through personal studies after college. I have a great urge to become involved and dedicate my life to the progression of renewable energy and am currently looking for a way to begin my career.
What excites you about this campaign?
This campaign is a huge step towards the great change that is needed to become independent on foreign oil but it is much bigger than just that. This campaign is the first step in the right direction. To set an example for the entire world that we and everyone else can greatly decrease their dependency on oil. I am excited about the job opportunities that this will open up. I am excited about the money that will be put back in to the American economy and the money that will not be given to foreign countries that wish harm on us. I am also excited about the knowledge that will spread about this great advancement in human society. This energy has been all around us and it is time we take advantage of it.
What do you want to do to help?
Please let me know what I can do to help.

Hi Patrick. Any luck finding a job in alternative energy? My experience is in commission sales. I'm looking for a job selling and educating the public on "green" technologies and products. Maybe we can network to find our niche in Asheville. planetj59@yahoo.com
Congress needs to do something to get the nation onto the road to energy independence NOW! We need a Manhattan or Apollo type project to prove to our enemies that we are serious in our quest to become independent of our enemies natural resources.
I operate a poultry farm in NC. Presently we use propane to heat our houses. We have to use a lot of ventilation to maintain good air quality, as a result we also use a lot of fuel. I need help finding information to set up a methane production plant using manure from my houses. I have searched the internet I haven't been able to find any information to point me in the right direction. Can you help me get started?

There may be relief in sight. We need to track this legislation and make sure the American people are protected as it moves through congress. This could open up the conversion market if we hold our representatives and senators feet to the fire.
Here is a piece of legislation that proposes to deal with the natural gas regulations on the federal level.
Senator James M. Inhofe of Oklahoma Introduces Drive America on Natural Gas Act and we need to show our support. This is a first step on the road to energy independence.

The regulations of certification are addressed in a way to open up the market. Finally!!!!!!!!!

We have to drown out the foreign oil Lobbyists in Washington. Collectively We have to become the VOICE for changing our reliance on foreign oil, by Vocalizing our Support for the wide scale use of Alternative Energy Producing Systems.
The ACTION we can take Today is to influence our LEGISLATURE. We must change the thinking in Washington. This is accomplished by CONTACTING your Senator, Representative, Governors.
The following links to Websites are one way of Contacting Congress. I find these links to be the quickest at getting to the "contact web form" used by most of Washington.

Welcome to The Small Scale Entrepreneur group Patrick Chase Brugh. I am hoping we can educate ourselves on what is needed to develop a successful small business plan that can work across our great nation. Small business is the key to creating a widespread use of CNG. Regulations that constrict the market for the small Entrepreneur must be identified and studied. When the regulations become small business friendly, the cost of a conversion will be reduced and many individuals will be able to contribute in the success of the nationwide transition.
I'm Wm Meredith--down in the Great State of South Carolina--Anderson , to be exact.
I applaud your efforts up north--I started South Carolinians For Energy Independence for my own state.
I watched with rapt attention the testimony by Mr Pickens and others before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on 6/17/08. Among the many issues to deal with according to several of the witnesses, were the difficulties created by the various jurisdictions, i.e., N.C. and S.C. bureaucrats could pose difficulty due to turf war type considerations, red tape, etc--conflicts and complications that can kill the progress we hope to see.
I suggest we consider working in conjunction with one another, and with like minded citizens in Ga, Va, Tn, etc to deal with any regionwide challenges we may face--
