- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Not much, I have played around with alternative energy sources as a hobbyist, but living in the Midwest it is difficult to go electric with current technology. Only recently has it become economical to even consider electric resources vs. gas/oil when it comes to major household appliances. Power generation in our area is primarily coal for residential and commercial electricity generation. Because of the coldness of the climate NG is the most efficient way to heat your house. The problem with looking at alternatives in my region is that the majority of electric power comes from coal – while it is not foreign oil, it is not good for the environment. Nor is it coast effective. With the way things stand right now technologically, the alternatives are nothing more than temporary impractical fixes to a long term problem. NG should be reserved for mobile applications (transportation in colder climates) and electrical generation for residential/commercial use -needs to be cleaner and more efficient –like clean nuclear power facilities –solar is not practical where I live, wind might be with technological improvements but realistically nuclear power is probably the best for our area unless cleaner power can be generated further south and then distributed to my region on some national grid.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Clean energy and Investment opportunity. In order for the United States to remain dominant on the world stage we need to ensure a technological advantage over ‘rival’ civilizations like China. The only way to do that is to ensure that we are at the forefront of the latest technological developments involving energy production. If we can produce clean energy domestically, we can insulate ourselves from increasing demand on foreign energy production (unlike the rest of the world) and perhaps use that knowledge to further our own economic development.

We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
For those of you that have already jumped in and have made contact with your local leader- thanks.
Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularily. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
