Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Nothing directly related; I work for a manufacturing company, A. O. Smith Water Products headquartered in the Nashville, TN area. We make commercial/residential boilers and water heaters. I have been with them for 9 years and worked in technical support, as a technical writer/illustrator and as a trainer. I’m a Navy veteran.
What excites you about this campaign?
I identify with it, I am politically active. Always vote, always vote independent. About two years ago I started getting more interested in energy issues. I watched an episode of Modern Marvels on the History Channel entitled "Renewable Energy" earlier this year and that made something inside me click or start in motion. I became more passionate about this issue. The idea of wind, waves, and the sun has always been a common sense approach in my mind, now it seems like a direction, a survival plan, something that might even bring us together as Americans again. Heal us so to speak.
What do you want to do to help?
Not sure; currently I try to educate everyone I know. I try to get them to think about these issues logically. I have managed to change a few minds in my circle of acquaintances. I'm a creative type; I work as a photographer part time. I’m a good communicator and an experienced technical trainer. These are my most significant skills. I’m willing to sweep up after meetings if it will help.

Welcome to Pickens Plan and thanks for joining.
I live in Knoxville, and when I signed up to PickensPlan, I looked for groups in Tennessee. There were groups centered in Nashville and Memphis, but not Knoxville, and the activity and leadership in our state in general was kind of weak at the time. I began the group East Tennessee for Sustainable Infrastructure and I would appreciate any input. You can find it here
I can also answer any questions about the plan or navigation of the website.
Please invite friends to the plan, as we need all the help we can get for Congress to take us seriously. We wish to be millions strong by January. There is a now a button to contact congress and a pledge on this page
Thank you very much,
Eric Lykins, Pickens Plan Campaign Ambassador
