Greg, I do not blame you for not wanting to paint the adobe brick. My husband is a retired architect, and were we younger, we would certainly entertain the idea of building an adobe house. Phil's uncle used to make adobe brick which fascinated him...

Hello Greg, Whoa. You have been busy. We envy you your gray water system. There is no way currently to catch the laundry water, and even standing over a bucket lets a lot of shower water get away. We also keep modest buckets in our kitchen sinks,...

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
We have solar coils on the roof for the pool, and we have a pump to circulate the hot water before turning on the tap.
I just culled energy saving ideas together from all the major sources I could find for our new book on energy entitled "Running On Empty, A Handbook for Surviving the Oil Crisis." It is just going to an editor for publishing. Our most effective weapon right now is conservation until we can get wind, solar and geothermal working for us. How ironic we had to have a Wall Street meltdown to get renewal of the wind and solar tax credits. Many of these conservation efforts we have done personally for many years.
What excites you about this campaign?
The undeniable expertise of T. Boone Pickens. It is the first time I've felt this country stands a chance of overcoming entrenched big companies and the proliferation of lobbyists. With Pickens willingness to make an energy independent U.S. his legacy, we finally stand a chance to break the strangle-hold of oil cartels and other mineral giants.
The other exciting thing is that the internet is positively teeming with similar interests and new ideas and products. I'm sad that so few people in power saw this avoidable crisis coming but terribly excited that we have this momentum going.
What do you want to do to help?
Anything the two of us can, given our time and commitments. We are so in support of this effort. I've been rattling political cages and bombarding elected officials with emails, and we've made donations. (Gotta stop that until the market settles, but we can be vocal and will probably set up a Running on Empty blogsite. We talk up the Pickens Plan. How else can we help?

Now is the time to take action!

Hey Guys,
Let’s get moving!
Our local leaders in Washington need to hear from us.
The inauguration is just about here!
We need more Pickens Plan members.

Everything you need is under “Take Action” on the website.
Click on the “Take Action” tab at the top of the page, there are
4 easy things you can do with your computer right from your key board-

1. Join your District
2. Contact Congress
3. Email Obama
4. Tell a Friend

Thank you for your support!

Please congratulate Dianna Brown, she is joining the 100CLUB today- for those that fax/send in more that 100 signed pledges! In addition to her pledge push success, she drives the Welcome Wagon often, providing a steady and passionate hand in sharing our goals to new members.
She is a Picken's Hero!

Best to you,
Kim

Hope you can push pledges - for Senators, Representatives and Governors, as well as all American Citizens! ARE YOU IN?

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.

Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
(NOTE - To date, none of Florida's legislators including the Governor have signed the Pledge) How many legislators in your state have signed?

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will add you to the list.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

IDEAS & PROPOSALS FOR PICKENS
I know that many of you have great ideas and proposals that you would like to get in front of Boone's team...
They asked us to have you submit all ideas/proposals in writing to the Pickens Plan at: PO Box 12123 Dallas TX 75225.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch.

Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS .
