- I am a college student in my senior year. I am majoring in International business and economics and this plan makes more sense than any other that I have seen before. Personally, I don't have any experience in this field and this is why I joined.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- America has been brought on its knees by the oil dependency. It is time that we took action to break this addiction and create more jobs in order to revive our economy and retain our status as an innovative nation. If we are able to do this, other countries will follow like they have adopted American ideas.
- What do you want to do to help?
- My goal is to learn more about alternative energies from how they affect America from a social and economic perspective. I want be part of this revolution that I believe needs to take part for our survival as a world leader in clean energy. I would also like to get more information on the Pickens plan so that I can mobilize others.

So glad to hear from you! There are 2 petitions, I will tell you about both. For Boone's new petition to Obama and McCain to demand that they give us an energy plan before the election, go to the front page or on Boone's Cam. For the pledge/petition, to grow the army and build the base for this historic effort, look at my OCt 20th comment to you below on "HOW TO TURN A PLEDGE INTO A PETITION" It is easy and it works! HOPE YOU CAN DO BOTH!

I have found that petitons are the best way to spread the word AND sign up supporters.
Here is HOW TO TURN THE PLEDGE INTO A PETITION!
I find it easiest to take one pledge, cut off Boone's lines under the pledge and add a sheet of lined paper under the pledge instead. I put NAME - ADDRESS - EMAIL across the top and fill in the first line to set the format. Most are more willing to sign where others have already done so, rather than the single pledge at a time approach. Everyone understands a petition.
I ask if they would "sign this petition in support of T, Boone Pickens energy plan to get us off of foreign oil?" Hand them the clipboard so they can read it. I do not require the signers to give me their email if they are reticent - don't let that be a deal breaker - some just do not want to give it.
Check out the 100CLUB group page to see how others have accomplished the task. (it is the first goup on my page) When you send/fax in 100, let me know, we will gladlyinvite you to be a member of the 100CLUB. Your leadership on this will inspire thousands!
There are over 150 people in the pledge challenge that I know of right now. Surely, there are many more that I am unaware of, as it is in many greetings. Those 150 willl bring 15,000 new members. If each brings just 5 friends, these 150 will be responsible for 75,000 new members.
This is the approach that works best for me - I tried many. Hopefully, this will encourage you to take the challenge, too. CAN YOU HELP?

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
