Efficiency is definitely a good thing, but the real issue is legislation. As it is right now in my home state of Colorado, it's very hard to get a vehicle to run on natural gas. There are two ways to do it: 1) Legally, using EPA-certified parts in...

Ingeo™ Natural Packaging
Made from Plants Instead of Oil

Ingeo™ is a product of NatureWorks LLC, headquartered in the USA. NatureWorks makes biopolymer resin pellets from plant fibers, which are then sent off to manufacturers to be turned into products. Many of the plastic products you buy, may already contain this greener plastic. What makes Ingeo™ plastic so green? It's made from plants (a renewable resource), generates less pollution during manufacturing when compared to oil-based plastics, and offers more options for recycling. As Ingeo™ can be produced anywhere you can grow crops, then you can imagine how drastically it reduces our dependence on foreign oil.

Mr. Pickeins, I know how to charge the batteries of an natural gas and electric hybrid...no, it is not "plug-in" or "solar"...Natural gas cars would not have to plan or change their routes in order to find an natural gas fill-up...Just give me 5 moments of ur time for a phone call,,,Dr.Charles Barker (580) 726-3623 ,,This just might be the answer to our oil problem....what have u got to loose??? Beats tha heck out of turning water melons in to fuel !!!!

Natural gas on the commodities market sells for $2.75/million BTUs which is then equivilent to approximately 10 gallons of gasoline (1.25 million BTUs). In some places in the US pumped Natural gas sells for $0.80/ equivilent gasoline gallon(gge). It should not cost more than $4,000 for a home pumping station and dual fuel conversion. High costs of natural gas at the home are caused by excessive local gas company and pipeline gosts. Ask me rhotaling1@juno.com

My comment is similar to the Bree Darden post eariler. I have access to more than 700 acres in SE Colorado right along the Colorado Canal. What is my first step to determine 1), if the land is good for wind or solar development; it is on the far western edge of the so-called wind corridor of which many speak, 2) what will it take to see my dream come true and see it developed?

Just my 2c...I keep seeing ads for American cars that get "great gas mileage"...23city / 30highway. This is pretty sad advertising, albeit effective I suppose. My 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid over a BAD period gets average 42mpg and stop/go traffic is ideal. I am befuddled when a large guzzler (hummer, large sedan, oversize pickup, etc) zooms by me with stickers like: Buy American...Support Our Troops...America First...wow....could they BE any more hypocritical ??! Driving to and from in one of these fuelsuckers is one of the LEAST American things the average citizen can do...stickers aside. I want to feel ASHAMED when I'm passed by a vehicle that gets better gas mileage than me. I want it to become socially unacceptable for Americans to give aid and comfort to the enemy by supporting their petroleum empires. We need a Nancy Reagan type slogan, you know??..." Just Say No To Gas Guzzlers" or some such. And when you know of a friend, relative or acquaintance who buys such a vehicle, do YOU comment on their purchase?....or do YOU remain silent?

All "alternate" energy as a source of primary energy is a hoax. Using BTUs as a standard, when all BTUs involved in the research, development, manufacturing, distribution, maintenance, repair and replacement of "alternate" energy devices are added-up, the net return is less energy than could have been had by simply using (burning) all the fossil fuel required to create these contraptions. Unless, of course, the Laws of Thermodynamics have been repealed. If this weren't so, wind farm energy could be used to create more wind farm energy and also power our homes and businesses. Isn't this just another attempt to create the perpetual motion machine?
