I caught a part of the CNN interview of John Podesta and T. Boone. The interviewer seemed making much of the bipartisan nature of their undertaking. Neither denied it. It is clear that the official position of T. Boone Pickens is bipartisian. He d...
I am happy that the stimulus package does contain help and encouragement for wind power. I do not yet know just how much good the help will do? We can all hope. We still do need scientific breakthrough. We need inexpensive energy storage. Light, i...
If the economy of the United States fails all of the Pickens plan effort fails with it. As of this writing the economy of the U.S. is still in reverse. It still. has to come to a stop before it can start forward. Having said that the oil companies...
Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I had a 1956 Ford that was a propane conversion. I wore out one propane tractor. I own a diesel Ford motorhome.
My grandfather lived 10 miles south of Carnegie. He had a "wincharger" and a bank of Edison cells. That powered his radio and a single 6 volt table lamp. He had a carbide generator buried out west of the house. The carbide was piped into the attic and a pipe dropped into the center of each room. There was a pull down gas light that you lit with a flint. There was a Dempster pressure head pon the windmill. If the wind blew you had water in the house.
What excites you about this campaign?
I've been putting the pencil to household self sufficiency energy plans for 40 years. Not a one of them ever penciled out to be a shortcut. I think that in order to create self sufficiency we may have to take some long cuts instead of shortcuts.
What do you want to do to help?
This is all doable. We need optimism. People need to be told that we can do this. I once spent 3 of the happiest hours of my life listening to R. Buckminster Fuller. He spent most of his time telling us how humans could always fix what they broke.

Ray: I read your comments on Cole, Coburn and Inhofe not voting for the Simulus Package and I don't think you understand the reason that didn't vote for it. They support the Pickens Plan and all it stands for they had issues about the Stimulus plan on Taxes and the debt this is going to leave for generations to come. If it had been just on energy they would have been on board. We Oklahomans voted these men in office and Oklahoma is a conserative state and that is how they vote also. Lets hope that the Democrats have not "thrown us under the bus" There is one good man not there anymore to blame this time thanks GOD.
Ray,
Your insight and suggestion for a dual fuel CNG/propane vehicle is excellent.
We will all be more excited about this when someone takes hold of it, like your grandfather did his circumstances. If one OK town would convert to CNG, the example would inspire the rest to follow. I love talk but I'm ready to go also.
Merry Christmas Ray,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Ray, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.
In order not to lose your long response, you mind posting it to the blog - or writing one of your own? I think you point of view is important, but I can assure you that due to the many comments I receive, it will soon be lost.
Welcome!
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement. On the home page, click on Daily Pickens to hear the latest from Boone.
We need to Push.PickensPlan.com – or “Push” as we like to call it.
Our future really does depend on us at this point in time!
If not now, WHEN? If not you, WHO? Look up your regional leader. Also, Click on (Group) Guides and materials.

Again Welcome; Tom
I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.
Well as they say (the large lady voiced the end). Neither candidate openly gave his support outright for our plan. Both new about it and to a degree felt the intense support behind it. It goes back to another old saying, on the political platform be careful how far you put your foot in the door.
Keep in mind As Sara Lee tells us (you cannot please all the people all the time).

Morning Ray!
You are spot on - this is doable. Enjoyed yor profile. PLease harness that optimism and help us really get this done!
Can you help with petitions?
Welcome to an exciting time at Pickens Plan! We have grown to almost 1.4 million suporters since June. There are now less than 70 days until Inauguration Day.
The Senate's "Gang of 20" and Thomas Friedman, celebrated columnist and author, have all stated that the only way to get the action we need on energy is to build this grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. (Read at DAILY PICKENS)
Many hands make light work. Please download the petition and get 10 signed pledges faxed in asap. More if you can. It is easy, Boone has done the hard work already. We need to spread the word AND take names.
3. fax them in to the 888# at the bottom of the pledge, asap.
Gratefully
Kim
Please congratulate our two newest 100CLUB members. 100CLUB is for those that fax/send 100 or more signatures.
1. Jeff Greene with Wise Gas, Inc is developing the natural gas infrastructure in Florida and was able to promote the Pickens Plan through their website www.wisegasinc.com and by handing out water to voters and soliciting their support.

2. Gary C. Boldt worked for several weeks on this and did not let an election day car accident prevent him from getting the job finished on that day!

Please visit both men and thank them personally for their outstanding efforts!
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining the Pickens Plan. I just wanted to let you know that a real person out here appreciates you taking that first step.
After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to guide your path. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and when you are comfortable, letting others know about the website. The people here are interested in making the plan a success and those you invite should be able to see for themselves that this is the right place to be.
Here are further steps you might consider.
- Visit the My Energy page and get involved.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202)225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
