At last, a clearly defined plan with enough horsepower to reach ,motivate and mobilize the American public. Be it special interests, an apathetic public or certainty of re-election - Washington has failed this country and its citizens for 40+ years. The time has come for each and every elected representative, senator and future president to clearly articulate and commit to both a bridge to energy independence, and energy independence within 10 years.
No more nonsense re: party politics. Either commit and lead or "get out of the way".

Merry Christmas Ray,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Ray, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.
We have new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits shipping now. The kits are attractive, sleek, well designed to install as a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, like dishwasher, etc. You can now begin a personal energy plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.
Your Wind blows stronger in the winter, Your Sun shines stronger in the summer months. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.
I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs and Ray, you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Oklahoma. Please see these windmaps at the link below and pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.
We would need to make flyers to get the word out. We can post them just about anywhere or hand them out at an event happening before ours. On the flyer we can kind of give a feel for how the event works as I have yet to see any block parties in Oklahoma. We can explain that food should be provided by visitors. Something along the lines of "Bring your grills, and SPF, because Pickens Plan is hosting a block party." (We can work on that.)
We'd have to select a block to host the party, and make sure we have the neccesary permits. I'd think something on a busy street so if people aren't joining, they must drive around (and visually see we have a following and our message is becoming more and more visable with each day. We can't be ignored kinda thing.)
We can set up a table there with as much current event info as possible. We need to have a few kids games (to keep them occupied so mom and dad can learn.)
I already know of a few bands that would volunteer to play, that are family friendly, but will attract young people.
We can contact local businesses in the green market to set up tables and bring info and samples of their products. I know Wild Oats won't pass that up.
I bet we can collect donations as well for the event (to cover flyer costs, and permit costs.)
We can all work on it and brainstorm. We need to call a meeting if everyone agrees to help make this happen.
The media will be there and may contribute an advance ad for us over the news about our event.
I think it is a start to making our ambitions grow in numbers, to make those that are harming our mother earth, the minority.
Hey Ray, just want to know if the Tulsa group is meeting in August, besides the Town Hall Meeting on the 16th in McAlister ...OKC wants to meet, but how to contact them is anyone's guess... Hope you are well and good luck at the meeting. It will be full and packed before the meeting, so be safe and remember where the exits are...Let us know how it goes, and will Oklahoma's governor show up? Hope so, we need incentives in Oklahoma so that solar and solar thermal can get some traction.
Currently, Oklahoma doesn't offer any benefit, since the last ones died last year, and they were only $2,000 maximum and you had to meet their restrictions on size and wattage. At least we have net production benefits from OG&E. Just wish they paid full value after the bill was negated for electricity. Credits are harder to spend. Good luck! Gregor Smith gregors@att.net

Ray, we definitely need more people to be certified for conversions as well as EPA approved conversion kits for more makes and models. The only place in NE OK that I know of for conversions is Tulsa Gas Technologies (www.tulsagastech.com). Tom Sewell is the owner. I've heard that his people are very busy and that it could take a while to get any conversions done because of so many people wanting to do it.
Hello! My name is Andrew Lewis. I'm an official Online Organizing Director for Picken's Plan notifying you of a call to action.
We are gearing up house parties in communities all over the United States to spread the word about Picken's Plan and get communities plugged in to real renewable energy reform.
Since your the creator of this group I was curious if you may know some people making plays in your group who would be interested in hosting a house party. The more house parties the better!
I sure will, I will be taking just one mechianc to training with me initally, we already know the essensials. The most difficult part is going to be getting certified with the state. They only administer the tests once a month and do not meet in September. The ASE certification is required before we can obtain certification from the state, so it may take longer to begin installations. I am going to convert my 05 chevy pickup asap. We will be competitive with costs of conversions, and we will not be like other conversion outfits and only do fleets. I think this should be available to the general public, especialy if we want it to take off and end our reliance on forein oil.
I would like to welcome you to Inexpensive Clean Energy A.K.A (icecorp). In our group I will be posting lots of information on affordable energy and how to make it happen. I will share with all the members links to government agencies as well as supliers and new technologies . Please share anything you come across that may be usefull in our persuite of cheap clean energy. Thank you look fowared to hering from you. PS I will be posting videos as well.

I am organizing a group of "poor boys" where we can share ideas. You can do the same thing. Just run an ad in the paper. You would be surprised what you can learn when a bunch of guys gets their heads together.
We will be building these systems in a seminar setting so that we can all get hands on. We will record the activity so that we can make it available on line through a website. The systems will be sold at cost to a member of the group and then we will build another system.
Keep watch, I will keep you informed as soon as we launch the site. All information will be free of charge unless we offer CD's of the free online activity.
Checkout these links and enjoy. The affordable technology is out there. Share your info. If we can just get past the greed and we can beat this energy crisis.
By the way I'm also building a straw bale house. They are so energy efficient.
Thanks Ray for joining S.O.S. I am very excited about this group, although not sure of all the ins and outs. My thinking is that many of us retired people just need a place to discuss ideas.
