Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Not much hands on but have been researching wind power for a year now. When I first checked on it, it seemed that the only option was 25 to 50 thousand dollar systems which left me out. But upon research I've found the componants that will allow me too build a system to power 50% of my own small house for under $1200, and can be added to as funds come available and as I increase the size of my house.

I have found several friends that have expertise in this field and at this time am organizing a group that can buy the componants and build a system to demonstrate to other "poor boys" , free to the general public. And also to exchange information.
What excites you about this campaign?
I'm an OSU fan, so I've had the privilege to watch Boone Pickens display his affection for the little guy, dispite his obvious personal success. I trust him.

I'm sure that the wind farms will bring him additional success. I pray they will.

I am hoping through the local campaigns that the individual homeowner can be informed of the very affordable opportunities available to them.

Huge numbers would gladly convert to wind power if only knew how easy and affordable it is.

I believe this campaign will provide a medium to inform a great number of people.
What do you want to do to help?
I'm in the process of organizing a group at this time to infom the local community and to research available assistance through government, commercial and private individuals.

Merry Christmas Ray,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Ray, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Hi Ray,

We have new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits are shipping now. They are sleek, attractive, and well designed. These are actually a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, like dishwasher, home theatre, etc. It's a nice clean way for you to begin your Personal Energy Plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.

Your Wind blows stronger in winter, Your Sun shines stronger in summer. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.

I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs from day one and Ray, you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Oklahoma. Check these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.

Welcome Ray and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan.

YOU CAN HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.

PLEASE DOWLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.
In addition to the PLEDGE, we now also have a RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON on the main page, top right. Fill out the standard form and the letter is sent to YOUR Governor and Washington Representatives! Easy breezy. Perfect timing considering the energy bill is coming up. We must beat back the lobbyists!

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

FOR MORE INFORMATION
Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action!
Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting": http://www.pickensplan.com/news/2008/08/04/video-of-the-topeka-town-hall

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your city or state, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch. I do updates on new member numbers and help with the pledge petition drive.

Thanks again for joining us.

Thank You Ray! This is exactly what I have been looking for! Sign me up for your links and let me know if I can help with any residential electrical code questions you may not already know the answers to. By the way, I have a customer who built a straw bale house on his property last year. I went inside on a 30 degree day and it was around 65 inside with absolutely zero heat source!
