Welcome to Pickens Plan and thanks for joining.
I live in Knoxville, and when I signed up to PickensPlan, I looked for groups in Tennessee. There were groups centered in Nashville and Memphis, but not Knoxville, and the activity and leadership in our state in general was not quite up to speed at the time. I began the group East Tennessee for Sustainable Infrastructure and I would appreciate any input. You can find it here
I can also answer any questions about the plan or navigation of the website.

Fill in the short, standard form. Done! Once again, the "hot" new RED BUTTON that enables us to easily send a letter to Congress AND your governor! With the Energy Bill in danger of not passing, it is critical to get everyone to send these letters.
NOT OFTEN DO A NATION OF INDIVIDUALS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TOGETHER for a vital common cause and chart a new course for present and future generations? I find this fascinating. We need to do what we can to push this forward!

Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act of 2008
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide tax incentives for the production of renewable energy and energy conservation.

OPEN CONGRESS SUMMARY:
This bill would repeal roughly $18 billion in manufacturing tax credits for oil and gas companies while extending and increasing tax credits for a wide range of renewable energy programs. It is expected to cause a contentious debate in the Senate, where its chances of being approved are uncertain.
THE OIL COMPANIES made record profits while gasoline prices were the highest ever, they don't need more of our money.
EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES -
This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! We are blessed that the creators of this site have given us the ability, with little effort, to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
