Thanks for your comment. I've considered small diesels, but I'm not current as to what's available. There are some interesting lightweight aviation units coming on line soon. What are you thinking of using, specifically, enginewise? W.Engwer

Hi Dick,

Solar & Thermal is my company, established in 2001. The Solar Power group was created before I joined Pickens Plan, and was one of the more popular groups. I found if ~8 months ago and is was a natural fit.

Even though the Pickens Plan is primarily dedicated to wind, solar is the heir apparent, with geothermal simply hanging around the estate; an elder cousin perhaps.

The S&T concept is based on a low cost high reliability approact to capturing sunshine as heat and using that heat in a rugged Rankine Cycle engine flowing H3N instead of H2O ( Ammonia vapor instead of Steam )

Thanks for visiting the site and commenting.

Dick,

You all in KY have my sympethy! Living up here in So Dak, we get cold cold cold. I can't remember when we were ever without power other than a short day or two. I cannot imagine the harships you are going through down there.

Please review my PP page and visit my website, www.SDWE.org

Within I describe a collaboration plan, which is just a suggested forum, which needs the intellectual input and guidence you could provide.

I have met several good freinds here on PP that have various skills in different required disiplines described in the plan. This collaboration may never become a reality, but the gathering of minds can and will help with each others individual goals as we discuss the various projects.

I am not a highly educated man, just a man with given talents and skills which have taken me to the top within my peer group. When and IF such a collaboration developes, I would like to think you would be willing to at least help guide it in the right direction.

Monty and Debbie
