- I have been trying to get a wind company to put wind turbines on our farm land in the panhandle of Oklahoma with no success.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- That Mr. Pickens understands the bind the U.S. is in now and how bad it will get in the future if we do not proceed with alternative energies. We've become a debtor nation because of oil, it's time to take charge of our future even if the politicians won't help.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Anythng I can to make Mr. Picken's vision (and mine) come true. And, I hope he won't hold it against me that I am a Nebraska Cornhusker fan. :)

Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.

Take a look at our group site Mariah Power. The Windspire is now on display in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Capitol Botanic Garden through October 2008. Units are going up in California, Nevada, and Utah now, and we will very visable and effective throughout Hawaii this year.
