Hello,
I just wanted to take a minuet of your time to let you know that a residential solar revolution has started that will change the way you think about solar.

Please – this is not a sales pitch, but an opportunity to get involved in the greening of America. So if you have friends or relatives in the Anaheim area, please take the time to let them know of this message.

Thank You for your time.

Hi Rick,

I got your name from the "slow down to save gas and money" group. (a group I joined recently)

I've been doing a bunch of amatuer research, and have found that there are a bunch of ways we can all reduce our energy use (and therefore oil consumption) on an individual level. Smarter (and slower) use of your car is only the start.

I know you've done a bunch already... you mention in your profile solar panels and other stuff... I've got some other ideas.

I wrote a little blog entry on the subject... If you have the time, check it out... http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

I'm trying to talk to as many people as I can in order to continue to add to my list of ideas as far as how to conserve more in my daily life (and also share what I've learned)... I believe that while we build and invest in large-scale solutions, we can also do a bunch of little things in the process.

Thanks for listening.

Hello Rick; just wanted to invite you to check out some of my groups/discussions on this site, as well as on my other sites:
AlternativeEnergy.com which is home to EnergyTalk Experts LIVE

GreenMech.org which is developing standards for green certs in non-energy/mechanical sectors, in conjunction with the US Green Building Council.

I've pushed my husband for years to utilize solar, wind, etc., and all to no avail....now, all I hear about are the high energy bills, as if I'm responsible!!! You're one of the "enlightened"; I wish there were more...

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I deployed 14 solar panels on my residence (all that I could use give the shading on the lot), which were supposed to provide only 10% of my electrical requirements; however, I found that (similar to driving my Prius) once you take the leap to assess your energy use, you find many additional ways to conserve. Accordingly, I have found many instances of needless electrical draw (eg plugged, unsued TVs or circulation water pumps that provide very limited value). My electrical use has been reduced 25%. Further, because my panels generate electricity during peak hours and I have put all signficant draws on a timer, my bills have been reduced by more than 50%. Finally, because of the net balancing that PGE does, I have discovered that I will only be billed for net use once a year, resulting in the utility defering my payment until the end of the use year (an interest free loan).
What excites you about this campaign?
Reducing the funds that we deliver to the Middle East for their oil, some of which are clearly used to cause us to spend far more funds on national defense.
What do you want to do to help?
Shutdown the US dependence on Middle Eastern oil
