Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have been working with alternative energy ever since I lived in Calif. going back all the way into the late 60s. I am a recycler, owning a small recycling company here in the great norhtwest of WA state and am an advocate of using recycled materials to use simple designs for the lay person to effectivly use alternative energy for thier own homes and work places. I have been seeking some financial help to promote these ideas and methods to make alternative energy more available to the average american. I also want to publish my ideas,,,maybe even getting patents on some of the ideas and then making it available to the average person with the stipulation that they not reproduce these units for commercial gain. Ask me for some of my ideas and see what you think.
What excites you about this campaign?
Freedom from being an energy hostage. Just think kiddos,,,that if we can stop using most of our energy production here in this state alone,,,how much more money our state would have availalbe as we export our energy surplus to other hungry states.
What do you want to do to help?
With help to provide methods for the lay person to build and use alternative energy resources for themselvs and thier families. There are so many ways that are low cost methods of providing practical, useable, cheap alternative energy sources. Many of us are already using energy inefficiently and the wasted energy can be redirected into other uses,,,cheaply. I know how and have ideas. Ask me!!! My brain is about to explode!!!

Hi Robert,
I agree! I would so love to be able to learn how to power our home and help others learn how to do the same with green renewable energy. We live in Central Oregon and it is sunny and windy almost year round.
My husband is interested in learning how to make a turbine, and even how to make our own solar panels, but we are just at the research stage. I would love to learn more about your ideas. They sound like they are good for the earth and good for families who want to do their part to help this crisis America is in.
Thanks,
Karen Adams kvadams@gmail.com
PS. I have started a Central Oregon Alliance group and I have just (as of today) agreed to help the 2nd Congressional District leadership team to get the word out there to people in our state. I'm new at all this, and have a lot to learn. It sounds like you have some great ideas.
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help. I am contacting to ensure you are kept abreast of current events.
EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will add you to the list.
PICKENS U has been formed for college and university students to get involved. If you know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to helped coordinate the pledge drive please submit names to Pickens U site. This would be good for job resume.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action! Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting": http://www.pickensplan.com/news/2008/08/04/video-of-the-topeka-town...
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
