- I am finally starting my own project (in a rented house). I am installing a "poor man's" solar and wind project which is an example of what just about anyone could do themselves in their own home. It's greatest significance is that you can start small and add on without waste or rework. It is wired to run most of my house with two inverters, and the 240 volt stuff off of generator if desired or off the inverters later if I grow that large. All of it is switchable to the grid if necessary. It can be fed by solar (main), wind (some), generator, grid charger, or magnetics if I get that far. The biggest question is how much will zoning ALLOW, how can that still be an issue?
- What excites you about this campaign?
- My main soap box right now is "If you don't have solar panels on your roof or wind turbines in your yard, then I have nothing to hear from you about the environment, price of fuel, or national energy crisis . . . DO SOMETHING, then talk!" Gore talks, Pickens walks (does).
- What do you want to do to help?
- I already am, I talk to people where ever I go. I've already added your project to my list of things to say. Their first question is how much money I actually save and how long it takes to recoup my costs. I reply that it seems reasonable, but that I do not pay attention to that, it's about DOING SOMETHING to assure future energy, because wining doesn't work. Put on your boots and do. Not just talk, DO. Government is not the answer, people are. That's how we built this nation, that's how we will keep it. Freedom works if people DO something with it, socialism only works if people give up ALL freedom. But this problem is too extensive to be solved by just a few in charge, it will take all of us.

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.
