Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I worked for 8 years in the coal industry (in both govenment planning and on the engineering staff of a large power company) and am fully aware of the "clean coal" myth. I am however a pragmatist. We need to do what we need to do to move to the next level of energy managment. I have worked the last ten years around rivers and hydropower (primarily as a consultant to the Army Corps of Engineers). Hydropower is part of the solution also, but there are significant costs and limitations to water generation.

As for alternative energy (as considered on this web page), I know some from reading. I know corn-ethanol is a dead loser (the energy inputs and outputs just do not balance favorably). I have visited some of the big wind farms in central SD and find those towers sgnificantly more appealing than the belching stacks at Gavins or Ravenswood. I am only one gerenation away from the time when my antecedents relied on wind to pump water to the house and the hog trough. I have played with solar (both passive and active) on a small home scale and am investigating the notion of a wind power unit here on my very windy hill.
What excites you about this campaign?
I have read through much of the PickensPlan web site. It is action. At the onset, it has a ring of the right action.
What do you want to do to help?
First, learn. Then, see where I can contribute. I have a fairly large education and experienced-based understanding of complex systems, infrastruture, data analysis, plan development and in the presentation of data-based plans to public and private entities. I am not afraid to get up and tell people what i know in a (often, LOL) convincing way.

We'll see where it goes....
