- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I am an architect and have been interested in "green" design and alternative energy since college in the late 70's. Though interest in alternative sources seemed to wane during the 80's, and I took on "conventional" employment in the field of architecture, sustainable design and interest in energy independence have finally become more mainstream.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Many things - the fact that a former oil man is promoting wind power is refreshing and inspiring! The campaign makes perfect sense from several vantage points; economic; ecological; practical common sense; and patriotic. It is most encouraging that an individual with a "voice" and some political influence is leading and investing in a practical, "can-do" program to increase our country's energy independence. As a resident of Texas, I am happy that something this innovative and environmentally responsible is happening here.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I want to help get the knowledge of the campaign out by word-of-mouth, letters to government representatives, online forums, bumper sticker, contributions as I am able. I doubt that few if any individuals within my circle of acquaintances are even aware of this initiative.

Happy New Year Robert,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Robert, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

I too have all those memories and concerns. It's called apathy and I hope people do not relapse with this disease.

We all share the same goal; to rid ourselves of foreign oil and clean up our environment for our children and grandchildren. Wind energy is a viable alternative. Some of us have a different ideas of what we can do for immediate relief.
Check out our group "Live Carbon Free" and see how we are promoting conservation and environmental stewardship as the bridge to future energy developments. Regardless of what we do, it will take some time to implement on a significant scale. For immediate results we can make a huge difference by conserving what we have.
