One may or may not like nuclear energy but it produces about 20% of our electricity and will and must be part of our energy mix going forward. NIMBY is always a problem with any power generation. Especially because of long haul power loss, it is che…
We are planning a meet and greet on Sunday, February 8th at 3pm at the Lake Valhalla Club House, Vista Road, Montville. There will be a coffee, light refreshments (a small contribution is asked to offset the cost) and a cash bar. We look forward to having the chance for everyone to meet and put a face to the names you may already know. It will be an important opportunity also to discuss your individual views and ideas about the progress of NJ-11’s Congressional District group and the objecitves of the Pickens Plan overall.
The Lake Valhalla Club is a great setting so please feel free to bring a friend..or a couple of friends, neighbor (even ones you don't like) or relative (Grandma and Grandpa that remember the Great Depression) or anyone who just may be curious about a group of American who want to see their country become engergy independent, sustainable and cleaner. All are welcome!!! Please RSVP by or before Feb 1st., so we can plan ahead. Please make your best effort to attend. Drop a note or call with any questions.

Overview of the Pickens Plan, Current developments and The Plan beyond The Pickens Plan

Welcome to this little gathering. It's interesting what can happen when you stuff 1.5 million or so people into one cause. In addtion to the historic inauguration today, this movement is all about the belief that by joining together we can accomplish anything.
By adding your names to this roll call you have enhanced a unified voice in the halls of Congress calling for the imperative of our focus on Energy Efficiency, Conservation, and the Development of Alternative Clean Energy Options. In a few moments we will have a new President who has energized the imagination of our country and the world by proclaiming YES WE CAN.
At my age I will add...YES WE MUST!
Thank you again for joining this essential movement. Please encourage all around you to become a part of this with you.

Welcome!
I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts. I do read every profile page.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
For those of you that have already jumped in and have made contact with your local leader- thanks.
*************Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularly. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.
On the home page, click on About The Plan ~ Boone Cam ~ Blog - You’ll see the Pie-graph Mechanics.
Our future is focus 1- at this point in time! If not now, When? If not you, WHO?
Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority.
[Click here], to enter your zip code and be paired up with members in your area. If you want to be a leader for your area, you can also sign up on that page.
For our members in other countries [Click here ], to link to the International group.
If you would rather wait on a leader role, that’s ok we need helpers. An organization cannot be all chiefs.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.
Other fellow greeters will give you a more in depth list of things to do. Again, Welcome; Tom
Welcome. We appreciate you setting up an active account.
After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you may have already taken.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the Local District page.
- Visit your My Energy page and get involved.
- Get involved with others in your City or State.
- Find and connect with a like-minded Group.
- Start or join a Campus/Alumni group at PickensU.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
