- In the 1980's I spent 7 years of my life as a professional surveyor for El Paso Natural Gas surveying thousands of gas wells and pipelines in the San Juan Basin area of New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona, It was known then that we had huge gas reserves being being pumped back into the ground and stored in natural underground caverns in Southern New Mexico!
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I notice that even the current candidates for President are only paying lip service to the natural gas idea instead of making it a main plank in their platform--the entrenched lobbyists are too powerful to allow ta president, or congress, to make fundamental changes--just as are the medical lobbies when it comes to health insurance. I have followed the move toward wind power, and see the same thing happened--lip service, but no real big movement, such as it would require to really make an impact. As one visionary said, we could retool the auto industry to make these windmils, and put millions of them all over this great country; we would then have enough excess electrical energy to make hydrogen gas from water at night when they weren't supplying the electric grid.
I know that using natural gas as our fuel can be relatively easy to implement in our vehicles; it was said that it could be done, on a large scale, for less than $1500 per vehicle! The "kicker" is getting the delivery system into all the service stations across the country. This would require big Government getting on board. The only way to get Big Guv's attention is as Mr. T. Bone is doing: Going to the grass roots of America and moving the entrenched gasoline lobbyists to think outside of the refinery box!
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am a Land Survey business owner, running the "Apache Trail Survey Co." here in Mesa, Az, and also am a Rotarian. I would like to present some of Pickens ideas before other Rotarians, and help in any other way I am able, during this slow time (with real estate way down here).

I want 50 or more folks to physically carry the boxes into Congress. Lay them at their feet. THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.
YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!
