Here in the City, and Down on the Farm!
Hello from Manatee County, Florida, here in the Tampa Bay/Bradenton/Sarasota area, on the Gulf Coast side of Florida. Down on the farm? We are originally from NW Indiana, and Roger grew up on the family farms, where we are growing corn and soybeans, much of which goes to ethanol and biodiesel today. We are also in the final stages of a decision to lease strips of land for windmills for producing wind energy, a growing movement in that part of the country. We are also studying the feasibility of alternative crops for ethanol production. Roger is a graduate of Purdue University in Agriculture (a Hoosier by Birth, but a Boilermaker by the Grace of God.") - He also holds a M.B.A. from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

Thanks so much! I have been a Regional Leader for other states, but have just taken over Mike Pickens role in the Southeast! I look forward to working with you!

I am John Osborn. I am the new District FL-11 Leader for Pickens Plan. Come and visit our website and look at both the Events scheduled with movers and shakers in the nation and community as well as the new and updated data on the District FL-11 page. Add yourself to my friend list and also the District Group. If you attend one of our meetings, you will see the Pickens Plan has had new life breathed into it. Bring a friend, we have plenty of seating. We are having a guest speaker Thursday August 13th at 7:30 PM…see the Events tab on Pickens Plan website for maps and additional information.
Under my leadership you can have a tangible role in the operation of the district. Just let me know. Come to this months meeting and meet “David Gammon” of Progress Energy’s Renewable Energy Contracts department.

I get silence too. It is quite sad. If the two of you ever get to Orlando, give me a call. We need to work together -- as a team.

Free Alternative Energy Available Now !
America Continues to Waste over 70% of the Energy it Consumes.
100's of millions of lights unnecessarily burn during the day and night, over heating and over cooling is the norm, over packaging, inadequate recycling, toxic landfills, horrendous road congestion, and our perverted obsession with road construction. Public and Private buildings, Schools, Churches, Homes, ... America's blatant energy waste and overuse is culturally pervasive, and abominable !
1- ONLY with a substantial and tangible economic reward/consequence will most Americans care to conserve.
Crude oil must be taxed at $200 per barrel and offset by making income tax begin at $60k.
Taxing energy is simple, fair, economically sound, and available TODAY.
2- The American auto industry must quickly transition to the 6.4 BILLION people reason$ to manufacture solar, wind, and other alternative energy producers. They already have the needed infrastructure. Every home and building in the world, could be using solar energy. We are fast running out of fossil fuels !
Humanity is racing toward extinction, via global warming, for our failure to stop our energy waste.
Taxing energy (in lieu of income taxes) is the ONLY incentive that will stop energy waste and cause renewable energy sources to be employed.

What do you think about this for Florida?

NJDL has offered two hours free use of its tele-conference call line to the first DL who steps up with a delegation of DL's from their State. Why don't you get the contact info for a group of nearby DL's in your State...12-15 of the closest ones geograhically and I'll set up the call for you at a time of your choosing. It's a great way to combine thoughts and energy. You can discuss strategies for the VM, recruiting, an eventual site meeting, etc.
Micah Lauer, our RL provided the home eMails for us. We had a great response. Let me know. The offer stands until March 31st.
