Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
To date, little. But I am planning on spending more time & energy in this field.
What excites you about this campaign?
I'm evaluating the feasibility of starting a wind farm on my family's homestead in North Central Montana. I'm excited that this campaign seeks to bring more focus to renewable energy, and is working to make it a feasible alternative to oil. I'm excited to have a forum to share ideas and to have the opprtunity to work with others in this field.
What do you want to do to help?
I'm interested in organizing efforts in both Minnesota (where we live) and in Montana (where our family is from). I want to become an expert in the field of wind energy and use that knowledge and expertise to educate local, state and federal government representatives on the advantages of renewable energy.

Ron,
Welcome to the Pickens Plan.
Did you attend the MREA Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin?
There is another Energy Fair in the neighborhood this Saturday, September 20 at Riverland Community College in Austin, Minnesota. I hope you can attend!

Ron,
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must implement drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT

Welcome to the Pickens Plan. We want to invite you to join the Great Plains for Pickens Plan. Our region will be the center of wind energy production, jobs, and economic development. We hope you’ll join our network and give the Great Plains a stronger voice in Washington to advance the Pickens Plan.

I am happy that you have potential to deploy wind yourself. WIND energy can potentially account for up to 80% of US non transport needs. See full numbers in our working proposal in More-Comprehensive _Plan. There are issues that can be improved such as axial vs centrifugal turbines and reducing the cost per kW and time to recoup investments.

I hope you will continue to contribut to our research-oriented and detailed approach. We will be discussing wind in more detail soon and highlight the issues and what improvements would dramatically empower this source.
