Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I was the campaign manager for a Conservative Republcan Congressional Candidate and wrote all of his economic and energy policies and speeches. I am now retired, but was an executive with a major Corporation, and have owned and operated my own business. Last fall, after meeting a BP executive on a cruise in the Greek Isles, I wrote a business plan for CNG for them on my flight home. I am looking for something to do with my time, I am very creative, think strategically, am hardworking, energetic and have a passion for both politics and helping resolve the energy crisis. I have long believed CNG should play a much bigger role in transportation and believe Boone Pickins plan is right on target. Ron Janssen
What excites you about this campaign?
First of all, this country desperately need a comprehensive energy plan. Second, I do not see that plan coming out of a partisan Congress with too many hidden agendas. Third, the Pickins Plan is about as close as I have seen to what I believe this country actually needs. (I did a tremendous amount of research into this subject, wrote policy and speeches for a Congressional candidate prior to the Pickins plan being announced. The documented similarites are significant The candidate, while leading in all of the polls, was forced to drop out because one qualifying document was not signed. I would like to put to good use all of the knowledge already collected and more importantly, finally help make something as critical as this is, happen.)
What do you want to do to help?
I would be willing to help in the state of Florida, or whatever you see fit. I would be willing to do any of the following 1) to see Florida move as quickly as possible to CNG and have them join NY and Ca in offering CNG vehicles and the Phill for sale in this state. 2) work with the Solar Energy center here in Titusville to advance solar energy, 3) I have already had discussions with the wind energy center at Appalacian State U. in NC and would be willing to continue those. 4) I have had discussions with the OMB regarding H.R. 4761. That provision would allow states to receive a portion of the royalties from production from offshore wells in their coastal waters. I agree witht the administration that this should be lmited to new wells only to encourage drilling This could help solve financially strapped states like Florida's budget problems. 5) I would be wiiling to help promote the Pickins Plan locally.

If you would like to participate in a Central Florida Earth Day Event contact us!!!
It will take some great volunteers and planning to bring off this event. So, How about a Earth Day event? The FL-24th Congressional District is seeking like minded volunteers to create a conference right here in Central Florida as an Earth Day Event, April 22nd. Not only would this be a great PR opportunity for Pickens Plan locally, but it also would be a great chance for adjoining Districts to work together. Come join with us in seeing this become a successful green energy event as well. The event is in it's planning stages and invites volunteers, businesses who would like to participate and Pickens Plan members to also join the FL-24 group. An article was posted on Topix.com at this link!! Basically, what we are attempting to do is to seek out our Federal, State and Local representatives and political leaders to join the Pickens Plan, speak publicly in support of alternative energy leading to a greater public understanding and education of the value a greener environment will be for us all. We also are seeking the sponsorship by area businesses who have a interest in a greater green public perception through this event.
Besides that, we encourage Districts all across the country to join together with your neighbors and set up Earth Day events just like we are. Anyone who would like to participate or has specific knowledge and ability in such an event undertaking, please contact the FL-24 group on what you would like to do in support of this event or to just participate by contacting business sponsors and political speakers. We can use your expertise, guidance and warm bodies too. All will be appreciated, as you know it is for a great cause. Thank you in advance. The Earth Day site has alot of information on organizing that we all could draw from and use just like the Topix article explains.

Hi Ronald
Glad to connect with you again! Need your help.
I know that we are friends, and you get email updates from me, however, I think this is so important, I am reaching out personally.
I AM CREATING A "100 CLUB"... members that have faxed in 100 or more signed pledges. So many thousands of people signed onto this site and said they would do "anything" or "everything" to help. Here is your chance!
We have the mechanism to build our numbers, we need to use it. Pledges are a very easiest ask- Boone has done the hard work. All we need to do is hitch our wagon to his horse and plow to the finish. I have sent in 240 so far. The office has recieved thousands, we need millions.
It comes down to.... DO WE HAVE THE FORTITUDE to really go the distance on this? I sure hope so. We aren't asking folks to take up arms. But, THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. And we have a very small window to get it done. I would like your help.
Are you able to help us fight for this? Are you in?
Best,
Kim
Just 10 a day for 10 days! For our energy future, isn't it worth it?

Hi Ronald
I just saw your comment for me posted on your page. Good thing I came here looking for you or I never would have seen it!
Nice work with the CNG conversion and the realtor folks. Please keep me updated.
NOW, the realy good news from me,
WOW, We finally have petitions! "THE PLEDGE" is on the blue header between THE PLAN and DAILY PICKENS.
THIS IS THE BEST TOOL WE COULD ASK FOR! It is so much easier to get someone to sign a petition than to go online and join the plan as a member.
I have been test driving it for a few days and got 200 signatures rather easily. Most folks had seen the ads or seen Boone on the news. Most were eager to sign it and strongly support it. A few wanted to get more info- I handed them a business card with the website. Very few said no (2 or 3).
PLEASE download a dozen PLEDGES, get them signed and fax them back ASAP (more if you are ambitous or have a large circle of influence). Please ask all your "friends" to do the same.
THIS IS HOW WE BUILD AN ARMY. If we all roll up our sleeves and do the collective work that we need to do, right now, we can give Boone the voice he needs to make sure Congress hears the American people and not the lobbyists and special interests.
Thank you for all your efforts. We have a very strong team. Can we do it or are we just full of hot wind? Many ants can take the Hill!
I love your energy! But also hate to see you waste energy. My only concern is that unless your petition is word for word identical with the PP petition, legally those signatures will be useless in the overall effort. In addition it may be difficult and confusing to get the people who have already signed to sign again. I would wait for the PP petition. But all is not lost. I am sure you have learned a lot about how best to collect petitions (where, when, how). Also, if people raised any concerns about wording etcand their overall reaction. That information should be very valuable to PP. As for those few that say hey will have to research it further, usually less than 5%, that is normal. Some people just will not sign anything-don't want their names on lists, fear of future calls, requests for money etc and will use that as an excuse.
As you can guess, I'm back, will read the info on driving Welcome Wagon and will take it for a spin today.
Also working on CNG here. May try to get something moving in Orlando. Talked with an aquaintance who is an authorized dealer for installation/repair for TECO/Peoples Gas about installing the PHILL, the home appliance that hooks up to the natural gas line and can refill your car at home (www.myphill.com) If you have not seen this yet, check it out. Am talking to a well known mechanic here in Orlando tomorrow about installing gas conversion kits in automobiles. And at a Realtor Govermental Affairs Board meeting tomorrow will propose that Realtors takethe lead in converting to CNG. (Realtors drive a lot, usually big cars, so the 40% saving would be signifcant, are exposed to a lot of people riding in their cars-testimonials, and it would be good PR for Realtors and the local Board of Realtors) Also will talk to a coupe state legislators I know about passing a law to get incentives for CNG here in Florida. Hey Ron
OK, I just noticed that the response to my querrie is actually here posted on YOUR page, instead of mine. Glad I saw it.
I can not seem to reach anyone at PP. I hear that a petition is coming- have you heard anything. I have been dry testing one of my own and have over 200 signatures. As you surmised, most people had heard of it , many were eager to sign. Only a few said they wanted to research it more. Quite an easy ask, while I had coffee and the paper at Dunkin Donuts in my hometown. It helps that I am well respected for leading succeddful eforts in my community and state. But, as long as folks can articulate simply the plan, it should be o.k. Imagine if this week 10,000 people and the each got 100 signatures. That's the first million!
We can do this.

I agree with you that AFTER the election this may not happen. Concern about votes, and losing an election, is our best currency.
How do we ramp up our numbers, fast. I am leading the welcome wagon , but 2-3000 people per day is not enough.
Look forward to your intelligent input.
Best

We could have a huge impact, what type of cost is it to convert, and are there stations to support NG? That is what everyone is going to want to know before they commit. Also, I am sure you are aware the Florida RE Assn convention is happening later this month if we could find someone to plug the plan then...wow.

Ron..I am in the Ocala area and if you look up member Robert Pfeiffer he is trying to set up NG in this area and was looking for help. I don't have any NG experience, but I am a Real Estate broker and have a good network. I have always wanted to do something to help stop our dependence on foreign oil. Have you spoken to any of your local reps on their feelings on the Pickins Plan?
