Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

I belong to the Pearl Dist. Neighborhood Assoc. in Portland Or. We are very active in the Pearl on other means of energy. One idea comes from Finland. Many buildings are built with a heat pump too large and many are built with one too small. To tie all the buildings in a given area to one large heat pump it can save energy. One of the buildings in downtown Portland has three windmills on top of it. Also many of the buildings have solar and rooftop gardens.

What excites you about this campaign?

I would like to see this country to start using its Nat. Gas resources. It would pull us away from the Mid-East. Also PGE here in Oregon is even going to fire up its Coal Burner because of the need for more energy. And this is supposed to be a green state.

What do you want to do to help?

At 68 years of age I am involved with many other programs and it is taking the time that stops me.
