- My brother had a solar hot water system installed 28 years ago. It is very cost effective, compared to solar panels and saves immense amounts of electric. If people would install solar hot water systems, the amount of electricity saved would be enormous!
I have been interested in alternative methods for years and attended the North Country Energy Fair in Canton, NY two years ago. New York state has been very active in alternative methods for years whereas Texas has done very little until recently.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I have been hoping for a large segment of the population to jump onto the alternative energy sources bandwagon and the rise in the price of a barrel of oil has finally made America wake up. But, the cost of the oil is secondary, in my mind, to the importance of making the USA a country not dependent on foreign oil. Our national security is at stake.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am not sure how or what I might do to help but I can certainly spread the word to friends and co-workers about this site.

Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Ruthann, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement. Look up your local leader from map on home pg.

Well as they say (the large lady voiced the end). Neither candidate openly gave his support outright for our plan. Both knew about it and to a degree felt the intense support behind it. It goes back to another old saying, on the political platform be careful how far you put your foot in the door.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, Please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
