Hey Ryan,

Does your area have regular meetings yet for Pickens Plan? If not, I want you to know that ours does and you are welcome to come to any of them. To get information and directions, just go to the Events Tab and look for District FL-11

We arrange guest speakers from the energy industry and political figures from every level of government. For our meeting on August 13th we have "David Gammon" from Progress Energy's Renewable Energy Contracts department and on the following month we have booked "Mark Sharpe" of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.

Have a great week,

C O N S E R V A T I O N :
Free Alternative Energy Available Now !

America Continues to Waste over 70% of the Energy it Consumes.
100's of millions of lights unnecessarily burn during the day and night, over heating and over cooling is the norm, over packaging, inadequate recycling, toxic landfills, horrendous road congestion, and our perverted obsession with road construction. Public and Private buildings, Schools, Churches, Homes, ... America's blatant energy waste and overuse is culturally pervasive, and abominable !

1- ONLY with a substantial and tangible economic reward/consequence will most Americans care to conserve.
Crude oil must be taxed at $200 per barrel and offset by making income tax begin at $60k.
Taxing energy is simple, fair, economically sound, and available TODAY.
2- The American auto industry must quickly transition to the 6.4 BILLION people reason$ to manufacture solar, wind, and other alternative energy producers. They already have the needed infrastructure. Every home and building in the world, could be using solar energy. We are fast running out of fossil fuels !

Humanity is racing toward extinction, via global warming, for our failure to stop our energy waste.
Taxing energy (in lieu of income taxes) is the ONLY incentive that will stop energy waste and cause renewable energy sources to be employed.

Ryan,
In reading through this, it seems to me that the Green Bank is not really a Bank (Like Wells Fargo or a Credit Union), but it will provide funds to Commercial Banks (like a Wells Fargo or a Credit Union) for project funding. In the event that Commercial Banks cannot provide adequate low-price financing, the Green Bank would fund the project, but at no more than 80% of the cost. To me, this sounds like a great deal, not only for larger companies (like your local Power Company, GM or NSP) going "Green", but for the small entrepeneurs who can invent, create & manufacture the parts for support. And note, funding by the Green Bank is only allowed for projects and supplies made in America. Bonds will be issued to increase funding of the Green Bank as well. And, every penny will be accounted for, meaning that you will be able to see online, what company applied for the loan and how it is spent. It's a seperate entity from the government, but we all own it. I think it is a brilliant idea and what this country needs to get the economy moving again.
I am likening it to Roosevelt's response to the economy in building the highway system. It's a good thing!

Ryan, the following was sent to me from Jack Costantino DL-NJ 16
What do you think about this for Florida?

Leslie Co-Leader District FL-16

NJDL has offered two hours free use of its tele-conference call line to the first DL who steps up with a delegation of DL's from their State. Why don't you get the contact info for a group of nearby DL's in your State...12-15 of the closest ones geograhically and I'll set up the call for you at a time of your choosing. It's a great way to combine thoughts and energy. You can discuss strategies for the VM, recruiting, an eventual site meeting, etc.

Micah Lauer, our RL provided the home eMails for us. We had a great response. Let me know. The offer stands until March 31st.

Mr. Hill and Ms. Kobza, I have been emailing Flagler County commissioners thru Melissa Sheets to no avail. I believe we have a great opportunity to build or at the very least invite industry land seekers for a solar manufacturing plant. 1 - we need the jobs, 2 - we need industry, 3 - we need secure long lasting employers for individuals as well as the county, and 4 - this is the time to receive Obama's blessings for a green industry that will be here for our children. In addition to tax money, we should at least devise a incentive/attractive proposal for any solar company looking to start or expand. Salaries can be $8 - $10 with the emphasis on good benefits. Retail here and Palm Coast Data may not be enough and taxpayers will start moving looking elsewhere. Anyway, here's Melissa's response. I never heard further than this:

Sam, Sorry to be so delayed in getting back with you, I was out of town. I’m not the Economic Development expert but I have forwarded your email to our Deputy County Administrator who should be responding to you very soon.

Thank you. Please let me know if I can help in any other way.
