Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

My husband and I have been working on lowering our carbon footprint. We installed a Weissman efficient boiler in our house last year, and have saved 27% on our heating fuel usage. We're now looking at solar hot water heaters. I manage two farm properties for a family corporation, and am looking at installing a geothermal heating system into a large Victorian farmhouse that is leased to young farmers. It is difficult to find people in our area who can install any of these alternative energy solutions -- lots of talk, not much talent and practical know-how.

What excites you about this campaign?

Leadership is what is needed, and a plan that could work. This one looks pretty good.

What do you want to do to help?

Start an email list to send out info to people I know.

We hope to get ideas and help with projects from all Vermont members of the Pickens Plan. Get help starting your own project, or help with an ongoing one, add your ideas, or pick up an idea you can work with. There's a lot of great information there as well. The group's creator, Scott, has really put a nice site together for all of us to benefit from. Soon, we may be able to form some sub-groups to spread the word!
