Over the past 6 years, she has been actively involved in leadership roles in programs for youth in education and sports. Since July of 2008, Sam has held the position of Georgia Leader for Pickens Plan, traveling the state of Georgia and beyond to educate and speak promoting T. Boone Pickens Plan for energy independence. She does this on a completely volunteer basis and believes anyone can do the same when they understand the importance of this issue. Mr. Pickens has given her recognition as one of the top volunteer leaders of his organization in the country. She has put her skills to use in several state wide political campaigns to support candidates that have the same passion for energy independence. Recently, Sam has initiated a new partnership, Fleet Tanner Public Relations (www.fleettanner.com). This business caters to politicians, political advocacy groups, renewable energy companies and commercial business to utilize her success to promote image building and communication.

Thank you for answering my request so quickly. :) Any advice for someone jsut starting out in trying to bring awareness to my community? Where was the first palce you had the most success with? Alos if you don't mind my asking what got you started in this project?
We have to tell the truth. It is the only way to win. We have to move past DC and work on our states and homes. We can cut our home energy in half in a short time. With so many old homes we could change the world one home at a time. Energy problems will be with us for many years. Have Fun. We need to push replacement of our nuclear power plants. We have to push superconductors. We have to learn about home hydrogen unites that can make homes produce energy for a Fuel Cell: give us 50 year mortgages on them, make them like a battery that you take from one car to another and when you plug your car in to recharge the battery, the FC can provide power to the grid.
" The question remains as to why this device has not been universally adopted? The only reason that I can determine is one outside of my area of expertise: Politics. I lack an understanding of the complicated interactions of utility companies, Public Service Commissions, and the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government in this regard. In summary, the PLD has met all the criteria of engineering design and has been proven effective." Ronald McClendon, Ph. D.
Note: Dr. McClendon has taught courses in mechanical, electrical, aeorospace, and industrial engineering, as well as, engineering mechanics, artificial intelligence, and biological engineering at three major research universities. At the University of Georgia he has taught Microcontrollers and Utilization of Electric Power and Equipment. These courses are pertinet to the PLD concept.
