I'm a newcomer to this forum also. Don't we, the tax payers, own GM? How do we get their attention? The reasons for going to CNG cars is overwhelming. They need to be bi-fuel for twenty years while the infrastructure catches up.

- Have a small solar system, AC and DC @ our cabin. Have currently applied for the City/State $3.00/KW for a 4KW PV system to be installed on the house. This subsidy is the only way it makes any economic sense. 15 to 25 year pay back
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I live on the edge of the Piceance Basin. Where the Natural Gas industry was going crazy and has slowed down lately along with everything else. My investigation into the natural gas industry tells me that we have a lot more natural gas than we can use now, therefore we need to burn it in our cars and trucks for lots of reasons. It's home grown, US jobs, will reduce foriegn oil consumption hopefully down to only being supplied by countries who like us, national defense. This has to be a simultaneous effort with supply and demand. The only way I see to do it is with the Feds commiting to it . We need a national energy policy!! Unfortunately we are going socialistic, we might as well put a strong Fed to work on something useful if that is possible. I wish there could be a plan to get it done without the feds, but I don't see it.

- Don't know?!?!?! The best thing I see is this grassroots effort. We need to get enough of the right (influential) people on board and the regular guys and gals that the politicians can still be their incompetent selves but will have to get behind this because this is what the polls say. The word is going to have to get out initially by a different means than the media. My perception is that the people behind this plan are in the wrong party.

I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts.

Looks like the much talked about stimulus package passed. Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority. Now is the time we hammer our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastruture changes; allowing grants & insentives to help us achieve the energy independance goal!!!

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.

The Pledge-Fax Your Statement!!
Please read and sign and fax to the number listed at the bottom of the Pledge page. If you could download the pledge and distribute and persuade others to sign, that would be a great help. The Community feels this is the best way to get the attention of state and federal lawmakers. Kim Anderson has other types of sign-up sheets. This is a great way to let lawmakers know of your interest in the reduction of foreign oil.

The Communications Group created a great deal of information to read and to distribute within a member's local community. Please take your time to browse through the materials.
The Videos link at the top of your Profile Page has videos that are a good source of information from people who are in the field working with alternative energy. The technical videos and amateur videos are varied, so paging back to page one might be the best way to browse. Or, if you would like, simply type key words in the search box.
