Hi Sarah

Please read my latest blog... HOW TO TURN A PLEDGE INTO A PETITION - everyone understands petitions. This is the help we need to build this army. We can not let this narrowing window of opportunity slip by. When will we ever get a chance like this to really effect change again? I hope you can help. If you get 100 signatures, let me know, it would an honor to invite you into the 100CLUB.

I was able to get 300+ in the first 4 days. It is an easy ask - Boone has done the hard work. Everyone wants to get off of foreign oil. We are creating a paradigm shift- a completely new way of thinking - about energy in this country. We need more support. ARE YOU IN?

Best
Kim

Hadn't heard from you in a while, hope things are going well. With the election coming up, and all, it does stretch one's resources thin, doesn't it? I, for one feel that it is most important that we have a National leader that is fully on board with the concepts of The Pickens plan, and there is only one who was on board from the inception of his campaign, versus one who saw it as an opportunity to revise his image/pander for votes -especially since he was an oil pawn for so many years.
That's why this may be shocking to some to hear, but as a 30-year registered Republican, for the energy issue as well as many others, I've been actively working for the election of Barack Obama for President.

Thanks Sarah. We see the oversize trucks often passing through the Topeka area with gigantic propellers for the new wind farms in other parts of Kansas. That is an unbelievable sight. But, more importantly we need more daily visible exposure for the plan. Signs, buttons, tables at group fumctions. We can influence decision that will be made in November, and beyond. Flyers on gas pumps ought to make people think!

Just a thought, but if you went onto each of the smaller groups' pages, and used the "send to group" function (you might have to join the group) you could put the suggestion out to them that thet merge into one, larger group ie: into Kansans for Pickens Plan. You might also find that there are people that are multi-members - living in KC and belonging to that group, as well as KfPP.

Just a thought, as one united group with a large, state-wide membership has much more inflence when lobbying members of a state legislature, a Congressman, or Senator.

Have been conversing with some members from Northern Kansas, I see that there are several Kansas Groups, does this splintering of members/talent detract from the overall goal? I'm thinking of Monty Python's Life of Brian where there were so many Anti-Roman "Peoples. . ." groups that they were nothing more than a group of 5 or 6 people who did nothing more than bicker with other groups over which group was the legitimate Anti-Roman group.

Anyway I can see groups merging on a regional basis, Kansas and Nebraska have so much more in common as potential producers in the wind corridor - Ag economies that need a jumpstart to stop the out migration of peopleto the cities, an infusion of new industry to replace that which has been outsourced overseas. Perfect example: Vice Grips, which were invented in Dewitt NE almost seventy years ago, has had their plant there the whole time. Now Rubbermaid, the parent company of Irwin Tools which owns the Vice Grip brand, announced that they are closing the plant at the end of October and moving the operation to China. This puts over 300 people out of work in a town of 550 and the economic impact on that town, county, and school distict WILL be catastrophic.

I'm a life-long Husker fan, but don't hold it against me. Rock, chalk, Jayhawk! Way to go basketball team!
