- I am currently a member of our City Council and my term ends soon. We have a few new initiatives into alternative energy but need to go much further. I would like to devote more time and energy to this and do it for real. It is the future and the future is now.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It is out of the box and forward looking. I respect and Mr. Pickens and if he is doing it then it's for real.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state; you can find them to the right, in the Featured Members section. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership
2) influence public policy.
3) If you know someone who is in the press, or someone who blogs, get them to cover this and ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

I am glad to be the first to welcome you. We are all glad to assist. You will find that everyone's helpful. I usually put my last name on my signature because we have a couple of Kim's and often times people get us confused.
Honestly, I don't recall the date in which I started activity on this site, but I believe it was in July.
Please note that I am not on this site daily, but I do check it as often as possible. Hope you find some great information, have fun and keep in touch.

Kiss the Green Earth is the lead Ethanol site on the plan. Luis has been doing a bang up job discussing all of the issues and helping to bring up potential problems through his insightful questions as he learns more.

Welcome aboard. I can't tell you what to organize because it appears to be specific to where you live. Your town or city may have all the right pieces in place, it probably does not.
One place you can effect the system right away is at the Daily Pickens page.There you can contact your Congress people by clicking on the big red "Contact Congress button in the upper right hand side of the page. This will let you tell all the congress people in your area and tell them that you support the Pickens plan and that you want them to. This is very important right now. They need to know that you are concerned about our over dependence on oil and that they must join us in fixing this decades old problem. This is also an excellent page to find new events and information to help you in your effort.
I am trying to get a meeting with my congressional rep and senators. I have put together a letter with others help and sent it out. I am also trying to affect my city and state zoning laws by lobbying them to change. Anything you can afford to do time wise is what is needed. This problem is big and there is no silver bullet. It will only die by the death of a thousand cuts. Each one of us has a small knife and we need to make our mark.
Each of us has to change our behavior and then change the laws, zoning and attitudes of others around us. If you need help, let me know. I will do what I can though it might not be much. I will help.

If you already knew this, please disregard, but did you know that you can send a letter to congress from the MAIN PAGE on this site? It’s easy - at the top of the MAIN PAGE (scroll up to the blue sky and see white letters) is a link entitled THE PLEDGE. When you hover over it with your curser, you can click on it . It will take you to a new page that there you will find a Red button that reads – CONTACT CONGRESS. Follow the steps and have your voice heard.
