Hi Scott, I'm leaving you this message to make you aware of the OTHER SIDE of the Michigan FairTax Proposal that Daar Fisher is attempting to introduce you to in the below message. There are MAJOR problems associated with this tax proposal that people need to consider. Please click on the above links to review the information. This tax would greatly burden the middle class.
Under the FairTax plan, points of collection are reduced to retailers many of whom are already collecting sales tax. Because service providers must account for income tax withholding and compliance costs, their prices carry a hidden tax which will become visible under the MI FairTax. (The MI FairTax EXCLUDES business-to-business purchases as this would, again, hide the cost of taxation in prices.)
Because of the prebate to ALL Michigan-resident households, the MI FairTax rate would effectively be 0% on all monthly family spending to the poverty level; thereafter it's 9.75%. The average effective rate will be around 5.5% (see p.2 of pdf brochure).

Regardless of who we voted for - our country has decided and we must do everything in our power to insure the Obama's Presdency is a successful one. STARTING WITH ENERGY. We must continue to educate Americans one at a time how urgent renewable and alternative energies are to our future. WE ONLY ACHIEVE CHANGE WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION to creating a complete paradigm shift of thought in this country.

Why do you say that?
How did we get civil rights changes in this country? It happened basically when people took to the streets and politicians saw them, understood there was an aggrieved community there that wanted action, and the politicians decided that the cost of inaction on their part was greater than the cost of action. The same thing has to happen on energy. There is only going to be real legislative change and support of renewable energy when enough politicians decide that the cost of inaction is greater than the cost of action. And bringing lots of people, and I don’t mean five, ten, twenty, but hundreds of thousands of people to bear on Capitol Hill to drive that point home is really essential.
The only way to get real action on renewables and alternatives to foreign oil is to make it political suicide for them not to get it done! We will get results when we are strong, loud, united and consistent, in all we do. PLEASE continue to share the Pickens Plan with everyone you know. Bring them to the site. Get them to sign your pledge/petition. NOW is not the time to let down our effort, it is the time to turn up the pressure - we now know where it needs to be directed. We will eat the apple one bite at a time. Please keep it in your conversations and continue to help us build to millions of supporters. WE CAN DO THIS.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership
2) influence public policy.
3) If you know someone who is in the press, or someone who blogs, get them to cover this and ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
