- I've researched CNG vehicles mostly on Craigslist. I've found that there a number of states that have some used CNG vehicles for sale, but not Minnesota. Looking on the CNG filling station locator, I found that Minnesota only has one station. I just bought an F150 dual-fuel that was a gas company service truck. It was advertised in the Utah CL ad but had a MN address. I pay 2.29 a gallon and have an account set-up with Center Point Energy to self-serve my truck and get billed monthly. I saw Mr. Pickens on 60 Minutes a few years ago and his plan just makes too much sense not to do. MN has only one station because there is not much demand for it and one reason there no vehicles is because there no filling stations.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- The cost of gasoline in Minnesota is $3.75 a gallon and CNG is $2.29 a gallon. I think that this is the beginning of something big.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I would like to start bringing CNG vehicles to Minnesota and set-up a dealership in Minneapolis in the neighborhood where the station is and create the demand. Start small, expand and spread the word.
I recently started selling conversion kit on commission for an experienced and reputable shop in the Minneapolis area. I put an ad on craigslist on 4-23-12 and have had a number of responses already. I've found that Wisconsin is starting to open some filling stations on the West side of the state.
