My letter to the editor appeared in yesterdays paper. Here's a link to it

My op-ed piece will run in tomorrows paper, I'll pass along a copy as soon as I see it (& if any editing was done).
Today, the wife & I went to the Nob Hill wind turbine in Farmersville, IL. We drove right up to it. I is 232 ft high & will produce enough electricity for 300 homes per year. The original project called for a 500 home / yr size generator but they eventually scaled it back. A rural electrical coop operates it. It cost $1.8 M.
I also read today that due to pending tax credit issues and financing issues (AIG & Leman Bros. Etc ???) that T. Boones Texas wind farm project has been delayed ... they didn't say for how long. Heard anything on that subject?

My piece was accepted at the paper ( http://www.thejournal-news.net/) and they tell me it will run on Monday January 5th.I was told it was too lengthy so I am working at editing it with their help .... I thought it was nice of them to offer. When it is done, I'll send you the final copy. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate a copy of yours as well.
No word yet from the WSMI radio station as to my offer for a community service spot on the plan.

I have used the email invites via the Pickens plan with marginal success. I go to the district score board to view our activity and I'm not sure it is updating correctly. I beleive there are more people that have joined than it shows. In fact, last time I looked, it showed zero & I know for a fact there have benn at least 4 additions within the last week.
Let me know if your op-ed piece makes it into the local papaer. I'm dropping mine off today.

(1) Contact Congress: Please Go to THE PLEDGE (very top of this page) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done! Thanks. There's also a FAX in pledge form there, after you do the congress email, there will be a form,if you can print, fill that out and FAX it in, we will use these to affect change and direction with the new administration. So, Fax the Pledge too if you can!
(2) Personal Energy Plan: In addition to political support and action here, I encourage you to take personal action, a Personal Energy Plan in which you take control of your electricity. I have helped other members learn about saving energy by conservation methods and have helped other members learn about home wind/solar systems. I am glad to help you learn and answer any questions. On my page is info and links that will help you learn about power use, conservation, and home generation. These are things I have done myself at my own residence, and Seth I can help you do the same.
(3) Add A Friend: Everybody needs friends, right? By every comment or under users pictures on the site you'll see links to "+ Add as Friend". This will send a friends request to that user. This makes it easy to introdce yourself and meet people here, it's great. Add me if you like, I'd be honored to be your first friend here. I have an interesting and useful background if you want to have a look at my page. Adding friends, Send Friend Request, makes it easier to communicate, ask questions, talk to each other. You can search users by city, state, college, etc. and "+ Add as Friend". You may even find members from Maquon,IL. This community is a great place to meet people and make friends, like me. I now have made friends all over the United States.
