- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I currently hold and A/S Degree in Automotive Technology. I have been a huge advocate of getting cars off the use of Gasoline for many years. The use of alternate fuels such as, Compressed Natural Gas, Propane, Butane, Compressed Hydrogen Gas, and Methane, are options that need to be pressed into service.
I say this mainly because we do not have to ask the automotive manufacturers to redesign the internal combustion engines they currently use, but alter the fuel management systems and emission control devices that make our vehicles fairly clean as they are.
But the importance here is that, we are not asking the automotive industry to make major changes, as is the requirements with totally electric vehicles, and hydrogen cell vehicles. Moreover, the biggest drawback with these types of vehicles, and the technology associated with them, is the fact they take hours not minutes to recharge their energy cells. Additionally, their driving ranges are on average less than 150 miles.
We are not going to be able to get the American Public to change their fuel sources for their vehicles, until they can see that these types of fuels offer fast refill times at the stations.
The E-85 Fuel is definately not an option for this country's needs. This fuel is not any more efficent than Gasoline, and the emissions are not really that much lower. Plus it still has to be blended with Gasoline in order for it to be used in today's engines. Basically we are only "watering down" our current gasoline supply needs in order to extend it further.
In the front of Nuclear Power, this is something that I would be willing to share, because our Federal Government has wasted vast funds on ICBM Installations that are currently not in use, but are off limits to public access.
My plan for these sites, would be to convert them into Nuclear Power Plants, placing the reactors far underground in the unused silos, where they are safe from any 9/11 aircraft attacks. Furthermore, these sites are located in such remote locations, (in most cases), even if there was an accident it would be far removed from civilian populations. This is the other reason for having these sites located here, the reactors are underground, so the surface exposure would be minimal.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- This campaign offers a real solution to our oil issues. Basically, from my point of view, the more foreign oil we purchase, we continue to fund terrorism. By changing our energy source, this reduces the amount of funding available to them through corrupt aspects of foreign governments.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Anything possible.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your city or state, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
