Simply Everything!

I am willing to take part, send letters to my congress persons, and sending this link out to friends and family. I am and have for many years thought we needed a change in energy because of our dependancy on fosil fuels.

You missed my point Sharlene. Individuals that jumped on a band wagon when the United States was attacked (9/11) and wanted war with anyone got it. And we are heavily paying for it. Unfortunately the perpetrator is still at large. Nothing really resolved vs the turmoil our reflex has caused. Working with those that have other concerns in mind is vital. Look how much the price of oil has dropped! The sky's not falling! Work hand in hand. Don't cause wars and animosity.

Sharlene........the problem with nuclear reactors is they are more unpopular than oil refineries. No one wants to look out your back door and see a refinery as well as the effects of a fire or explosion. That's why there hasn't been a refinery built for decades. No one wants it near them. If you can get refineries built, you may have a chance at reactors.......can one be built behind your house?

Sorry. I did send the comment to the wrong link (It was meant for Bev - 2 down in the comment links).. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the President CANNOT do ANYTHING without CONGRESS.- that's been my mantra this whole campaign. However, I do believe that we need a president who is also open minded and willing to do what is best for this country. Pickens has a superb idea and needs all of us to support it - regardless of party affiliation. you made a good point - I will save my political blogging for another forum.

Governor Palin is polite and nice but is not going to do anything but support the oil industry. Sharlene said it well. I am not impressed by her demeanor nor her ability to regurgitate what she learned at debate camp. She is not worthy of being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. We need your help.

The stars have aligned to create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is and has been urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.

Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.

Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
