- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Just what I read in the media. My home conservation experience has increased quite a bit lately: I now limit TV time, internet time, use of lamps, and my AC is set on 80 degrees 24/7. I don't drive to Wal-Mart anymore, it's too far away! And, I buy my groceries at the closest grocery store (not the cheapest!).
However, I am very energized to do everything I can to support our development of alternative energy sources.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Like almost everyone else, I am so relieved to see Mr. Pickens good, clear thinking on a solution for us. His point about our transfer of wealth abroad to pay for our oil consumption ($10 Trillion over the next 10 years!) was right under our noses, but we didn't see it. No wonder our economy is in such trouble! Of course, spending that money here on jobs and equipment investment will be a great boon from Boone! Thank you, Boone Pickens. But, the most exciting thing is a real opportunity to bring help and realistic hope to our country that we can overcome this energy crisis, and in the process begin our financial recovery also.
- What do you want to do to help?
- My personal resources include time (I'm retired), interest in reading and writing, some (ancient!) history in helping to organize student and church initiatives, and I've just started volunteering at our local Charlotte County Cultural Center, where they organize and hold all kinds of events. The event director might be interested in an event on the Pickens Plan.
Really, I would be glad to do anything I can to help. Our country is in peril, and I want to do whatever I can to help.

PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
