Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

In 2002, I was approached by a California company, inquiring as to whether or not I would be interested in being a part of a WECS project. In the next 2 years, I gave tours to our County Commissioners, showing them the proposed location, attended Planning and Zoning meetings with the idea in mind of changing our zoning to allow WECS, and met privately and publicly with county officials pushing our plan. Many animated meetings resulted not only at the Planning and Zoning level but also at County Commission meetings level, which grew to include State Energy meetings. Our revised zoning was successfully completed in November of 2004.

What excites you about this campaign?

Wind energy has always fascinated me. Our heritage is tied directly to wind power in the form of wind ships. Once again, the winds of change are blowing.

What do you want to do to help?

There are many of us ranchers here in the Flinthills of Kansas that are willing and able to supply the acreage needed for wind projects.

We cant wait for State or Federal government to act in our best interest. Local people and their interests MUST rise above the apathy in America today. We have a GM plant in kansas city, it's time we put them to the test for the betterment of Kansas and Missouri citizen's. please join me in uniting all of kansas city in this effort.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. Ask them to join. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? Because of high gas prices, Americans have "woken up" to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now. So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done.

Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. One person can make a difference.
