Hi Terri, I'm leaving you this message to make you aware of the OTHER SIDE of the Michigan FairTax Proposal that Daar Fisher is attempting to introduce to people on this site. There are MAJOR problems associated with this tax proposal that people need to consider. Please click on the above files to review the information. This tax would greatly burden the middle class, don't be fooled

Hi Terri, I'm the state Internal Communication Director for the Michigan FairTax Assn which works "hand in glove" with goals of the Pickens Plan because by REPLACING the Michigan income tax, families and businesses will have additional disposable monthly income to make energy improvements to their homes and businesses.

For The Facts- End income tax returns, audits, interest, penalties and 1/2 the lobbyists in LansingHow will passage of a MI FairTax do this? It will REPLACE the income tax and current sales tax, with a consumption tax (sales tax at point of retail sale). This means that no more state tax will be withheld from Michigan wage-earners' paychecks. What's more, every Michigan resident-family will receive a monthly "prebate" check, in amount based on family size. This will ensure that NO Michigan family will EVEN BEGIN paying the MI FairTax on goods / services unless, or until, they exceed poverty-level spending. The MI FairTax rate is 0% on all monthly spending to the poverty level; thereafter it's 9.75%. The average effective rate will be around 5.5% (see p.2 of pdf brochure). Please join our email list to learn how you can help advance the Michigan FairTax and facilitate Pickens Plan goals!

Merry Christmas Terri,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Terri, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, Michigan: I just posted an article on my page about Home Wind Systems in Michigan. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Hi Terri,

Your Wind blows stronger in the winter, Your Sun shines stronger in the summer months. Our new hybrid wind/solar systems combine these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system we make provide free-clean power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs and Terri, you can too. In Michigan, Your local wind resources could be really good. Please see these windmaps at the link below and pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.

Welcome to the chance to make a difference in our lives!
Here's how you can help.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. www.pickensplan.com. Ask them to JOIN. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.

So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done. Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. .

If you have a connection to the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write a letter to your Representative or Senator- get them to act on this now.
We added 2,000 members yesterday.... it should be 10 times that!

Want to learn more? Check out the Topeka, Kansas Town Meeting video (on the right hand side, in blue, on the home page). Very informative.

Have a nice day. Please let me know how it goes. Feel free to friend me.
Kim

Here are is an excerpt from Thomas Freidman's Sunday article in the New York Times:
Pickens made clear to me over breakfast last week that he was tired of waiting for Washington to produce a serious energy plan. So his company, Mesa Power, is now building the world’s largest wind farm in the Texas Panhandle, where he’s spent $2 billion buying land and 700 wind turbines from General Electric — the largest single turbine order ever. The U.S. could secure 20 percent of its electricity needs from wind alone.

But Pickens knows he’s unique. Unless, he says, "Congress adopts clear, predictable policies" — with long-term tax incentives and infrastructure — so thousands of investors can jump into clean power, we’ll never get the scale we need to break our addiction.

If only we had a Congress and president who just sit down with Boone and Shai and asked one question: "What laws do we need to enact to foster 1,000 more like you?" Then just do it, and get out of the way.
